Thank you so much for the useful technique. I may have a question? The edges of the parts of the car model are not smoothed despite of the turbosmooth(TS) modifier. (Also I found the shell modifier is not 'under' but 'on' the TS modifier.). How is it possible? (Sorry for my poor English) plz teach me Thanks

Please Do A Videos on how to make a ''OVAL'' Shape cut hole On A Plain Mesh, THEN making duplicates & Converting them to a form a Cylinder shape {If You Look At A Kenworth on Peterbilt Truck Exhaust You'll See What I'm Describing] I'm Having Trouble modeling the OVAL & CAPSULE Shaped holes ON THE CYLINDER To Go Round and Round TO MAKE THE a Heat Shield exhaust..Please Help! I'm New To Blender 2.79 doing my best to learn! Thanks
@NickVanLoon6 жыл бұрын
hey sorry i never replied. It is very similar to making a circle like in this video, however just deform the points in the hole to be more oval shaped. then you can take that plane with the oval in it and array it into a cylinder. (youtube array in 3ds max, someone has a decent tutorial somewhere) Id make a video but i currently cant.

Thanks for sharing this tutorial! It may be one of those basics but it really widens the perspective on how to tackle things different way. I am currently making a rifled musket so the part where you showed us the grooved hole will surely inspire me to do the similar thing. Thanks again and I hope you got a cool job! Btw do you own a lancer? The model sure looks nice, man!
@NickVanLoon6 жыл бұрын
Currently jobless but thanks for the thought! Glad it was helpful. I wish i could make more videos right now but im in a rough place. Do not own a lancer but i do have a 09 accord coupe v6 manual lol
@KopeknKedi6 жыл бұрын
Too bad you havent found the dream job yet but I'm pretty sure a talented 3d modeler like you will get it someday! Fingers crossed. Cool that you have an Accord. I used to own a 98 civic coupe manual when I was in college but I had to kiss it good bye when I left the states. Do me a favor by making a Civic model someday when you get your job and enough free time! hehe

@@NickVanLoon if u can model a car with such high detail I believe u can make anything.. would love to know how long it took you to get to such a level of 3d modelling
@NickVanLoon5 жыл бұрын
@@brycedsilva1142 Thanks. Id say i can make just about anything in 3ds max besides for people. There really is no short cut, its just modeling every day. when i was in college I would spend at least one hour every day modeling something. Best advice is do 30-60 minute speed models. set a goal (lets say a game prop of some sort) than try to model that object in the time constraint. this forces you to work faster and learn better ways to build in 3ds max.

Don't feel bad bud, I've spent the last few hours trying to learn how to punch the center out of a disk and then round or angle off the edges to make a halo. xD Boolean keeps giving me some weird stuff going on, and this interface is very confusing starting out. I just keep in mind I barely knew anything about how to use Photoshop when I started out and now it feels second nature. I think the biggest hurdle is understanding the UI, what everything does, and how to get to the options you're looking for.

Small suggestion. When you speak fast, please don't start clicking mouse to do Operations. Explain mouse clicks instead... else the purpose of creating videos will be lost on 90% of the viewers. Because your audience is less expert than you are DUHHHHHH
@NickVanLoon5 жыл бұрын
That is the whole reason i made this channel, and focus on explaining each click and thing i do. I am from detroit and naturally do speak faster and try to slow myself down for the videos. Out of my 500k+ views this is my second comment about this. Sorry i speak to fast. Will try to slow down more in future videos
