As a 10yr professional in video game art, this is easily one of the most concise and accurate videos on the topic I've seen. Fantastic work.

Unlike most people on KZbin, you don't just DO it, and not explain why. I appreciate the amount of detail you go into to help us learn and understand how and why something is done. And yet somehow this video is still extremely concise, under 10 minutes. You have a talent in teaching, thank you.

Ty so much for making this video! I have a model that I was just racking my brain over because I had no idea in what way I should add details and this helps so much
@alexl72132 ай бұрын
One way of adding fine details is to paint on a bump map and add it over the sculpted model texture using shader nodes. You need to have the model properly retopologized and the UV map ready. When you bake a normal map from the detailed mesh, you can then add the bump map over it, and end with fine details normal map. You need a good pc rig to sculpt fine details in blender. It's not so performance friendly as zbrush. The workaround is painting a bump map.

so im using an alpha brush, but when i see people use them, it a bit different, It appears as though everyone else can click and drag to increase the size of the brush, like the eyeball @6:29. but when i click and drag, it just repeats the brush stroke and blurs and smashes a bunch into an area. what am i doing wrong?

Hi, I made a 3d model of a fish in fusion360, and now I would put a fish scale on that model, as far as I understand, I can import an stl file of fish and create a low poly model on it and use that to put fish scales on the model, am I on the right track? do you have any tutorial that could help, thanks

I don't get it. Its better to use multiresolution than remesh or dyntopo?
@in2vert Жыл бұрын
Remesh/Dyntopo is for sculpting the shape, Multires for the find Details.

@@in2vert So i making hipoly model with details, then making lowpoly then adding multires to lowpoly to make it hipoly?
@S9universe Жыл бұрын
@@gendalfgray7889 in fact the goal is to have low polis with the high polis details baked so u can animate easily or use your model in games..

can someone please help? when doing skin texture pore details, how do i only add the texture and not affect the whole area? for example, i add texture on the nose, the nose then becomes bulkier because the alpha overall drags the mesh outwards, not just the pores?
@in2vert Жыл бұрын
You have to adjust the Sample Bias. I explain this also at some point in this video.

Well, when we apply the multi-resolution modifier, the mesh be high poly again So what should we do next?
@in2vert Жыл бұрын
You use one version with applyed multires to bake details onto the one without multires, so your low poly mesh.

Amazing video. Please, you mentioned that we shouldn't sculpt skin pores. How do we go about creating them efficiently then if we don't sculpt them? Like, the pores and bumps.

amazing video just a few days ago i was also learning a way to make alphas btw don't use materialize to create alpha use laigter it is a free program it will save height map at 120 ppi while materialize saves it at 72ppi and it will give u higher quality detail in ur alphas
@alsigerpro2 жыл бұрын
@@in2vert what i meant is materialize produce a lower quality height map but laigter hill give a higher quality height map i tried both and compared the results laigter gave better details compared ti materialize
