Hey Lukasz ... I love this video, watched it a number of times, and love doing these multi/double exposures. But I'm having trouble setting up my GR3X the way you describe: Av mode, auto ISO with max 6400, no problem but it's setting the minimum shutter speed that baffles me! M mode is not a problem, but the way you're doing it sounds better. Also, I love doing these double exposures out there in the field, at the time, but sometimes all is well but for a little something that looks like a smudge on someone face maybe. So just in case, I like to save copies of the originals to layer on my PC later. Good tip eh!

Hello Lukasz, love your thoughtful work and confidence in making good pictures. My question is this, you said "When I use Av, I keep my ISO on auto but with a min shutter speed and max ISO set. This ways I don't have to worry about the shutter getting too slow." But on Av mode on my GR-III I could not find a place to set lower limit for my shutter speed to 1/250. How did you do that? Thanks again
@peerjee3 жыл бұрын
Please disregard. I found the setting, it is under Still Image Settings>2>ISO Setting>Minimum Shutter Speed

Awesome! The other day, I was looking at the Ricoh G900, and I found that it has an overlay function for comparing construction sites before and after. I would love to see that in the GRⅢ for creative purposes. Or better yet, if Ricoh could open the GRⅢ for developers, like they did with the Theta, then the possibilities would be unlimited.
@EYExplore3 жыл бұрын
Plugins for the GRIII would be wild! In fact, that should be a thing on all cameras these days. Ricoh could certainly lead the way since they already do it with Theta. We have a Z1 and it's super cool that you can add functionality!

Hey Lukazs, very interesting video. That’s a function i’ve never used and now I want to try out. I have a related question about exposure in the GRIII. I heard someone say that you can shoot on A with just auto ISO, or on A with auto ISO working together with the shutter speed (which I understand it’s the camera deciding the best shutter speed to get the right exposure). My question is what’s the difference among both modes both in settings and result?
@LukaszPalkaPhoto3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not sure what exactly you mean by ISO working together with shutter speed, but I assume you are referring to the minimum shutter setting? When I use Av, I keep my ISO on auto but with a min shutter speed and max ISO set. This ways I don't have to worry about the shutter getting too slow. I also have the freedom to control the aperture. And I know the ISO won't go over a certain amount. The benefit of all this is that the exposure can still be automatic but I retain control of all three main settings.

I just got my GRIII (inspired by your channel). I am struggling so far. Today I just tried to take a photo where the car was in shade and the road to the right was in bright sunlight. Either the car was totally shaded out or the road was washed out. When I took the same shot with my iPhone the photo actually came out pretty well. I need to come over to Japan as soon as it opens for instruction!! (And very cool video by the way).

Practice. Multiple exposures take skill to pull off well. Stop expecting instant results.

Does Ricoh gives a Raw file during double exposure ??

Are the files DNG or are they JPG like in Fujifilm cameras?
@EYExplore3 жыл бұрын
They will still be DNGs so you can edit them like normal raw files! :)
@aag243 жыл бұрын
Is this at all possible with the GR I?
@EYExplore3 жыл бұрын
Yes! The GR I and II both have multi exposure settings and they work pretty much the same way. :)

The GR III would be so much more useful if I could change the composite mode in interval composite shooting from "bright" to "average" so that I could simulate long exposures. Please add that to a firmware update.

Maybe not walk behind a lady walking by herself. You could have paused and talked to the camera while she got far enough away.
