What’s up bro nice video. When you zero xy and z in advance vcarve what bit do you use to zero, the 1/8 or 30 deg. bit ?? Thanks

I’ve started using my vbit to set the zeroes. I initialize the machine with my vbit and then set my zeroes with it. I am able to be more accurate with the vbit point.

Ok cool. I have the longmill n it seems to work better with my 1/8 end mill but sometimes it’s a bit off I’m gonna try the vbit next time thanks

if you can use the V bit for a complete outer contour of the letters then they would all have slanted / \ walls and be stronger than straight | | walls. Need a 1/8" to 1/16" offset around text/pattern V bit carve, then offset to outer box as pocket clearance only

Thanks John for the tip! Im going to have to play with it a bit more. So essentially, in addition to feed rate and speeds potentially causing chipping, the strength of the outer walls of the text is reduced by having vertical walls rather than slanted. I wonder if my cutting depth was too low to not allow for slanted walls?

what program did you use to create the text

Hey kn, I designed this using carbide create. The font is Times New Roman.
