Very nice tutorial 😊👍 Another way to remove the environment texture (HDRI) from the render without using the sphere is to use nodes. Connect the texture node to a mix shader and then add node: Light path. Plug "Is camera Ray" into factor (Fac) on the mix shader. Works like a charm 😊

Great tutorial! but when i click bake lighting everything inside my room becomes black. i thought there must be some problem with my hdri but with every hdri placed the space between the light probe becomes black :(

I think you are having shadows of the sphere did you placed a mesh to cover the whole scene ? If yes then you will need to unchecked the shadows option of that mesh . May be thats why are having total black results. Other then that make sure you have used right HDR format.

It would be great if you can share a pic of your scene so I might tell what's going on , But if you really want to play with the intensity of specularity then you can put manual numbers inside of the material specularity that can help you get stronger spec also do play with the roughness value . But I will recomment you to use default value of spec as its physically based on real life values.

On a more complex interior such as a kitchen with internal walls is impossible to not have the irradiance volume dots overlap walls and interior elements and results in black blotches. Is so frustrating. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

You need to use ambient occlusion for that. Add ambient occlusion in the material of your model and then in the render properties tab you will need to check the ambient occlusion and play with its value to hide the seams.

you need a reflection cubemap and scale it up in your scene and then bake cube map only it will help you to capture reflection whether your scene is about interior or exterior . Set up a material on any of your meshes with glossines value to 0 to make it fully reflective then you can observe reflection of your scene on it.

the problem is that a silver objet don't reflect other silver or gold object ! the object appear black in the reflexion

@@nadagalou yes reflection cube map can not reflect the the reflection of other material reflections it is used for faking the reflection, right now the feature you are asking is not available may be in the coming years it will be available but if you want to see reflection even if the meshes are moving then you need a screen space reflection . Try to play with it .The other way around is to use cycles baking to get accurate results for static meshes.

Assalamu alaikum brother saqib....very very helpful tutorial just what I was looking for.....I have been using blender since 2 months...becoz of eevee....its very very nice...as a max and maya user...and being still a student...I have one question ....since i am aware of most of the eevee settings i was looking for the option of primary and secondary bounces in blender as I have been used to it vray and max....but looks like cycle does it by default......and I was searching for it in eevee....but didn't find any such option.......since it operates like a game engine does...instead of ray trace..its does rasterization.....which means just like games it lacked one of the most intense computations such as GLOBAL ILLUMINATION....AND default GI based AmbientO....so I just want to ask does the process of baking indirect lighting does the exact same thing in a game engine and render engines such as eevee? ...so to get a default ?? GI?

Walikum asalam bro , glad you like the tutorial and yes Eevee's irradiance volume does the similar thing as if you compare it with unreal engine. but blender is still under development so there are alot of areas that they can improve it . Unreal is still far ahead in terms of baking GI but who knows may be after some time blender will take the lead. Blender has come really far from where it was.

The irradiance volume in irregular shape rooms doesn't work properly, it causes light issues. Did you know to fix it?

try to use multiple irradiance volume to fill out the shapes of the complex room and also play with the irradiance volume resolution to have different resolution for different area of the room in that way you can get away with the light issue.

@@SaqibHussain88 I'll try it. Fun fact, the room is not so complex, just the ceiling is not straight. In game engines like unity you can manually transform the "probe balls", it's better in my opinion.

@@barbecueth6948 also try to rotate the irradiance volume according to the angle of your ceiling i guess it will help too

@@SaqibHussain88 Fixed by reducing the probe resolution in Z axis from 4 to 2, so it fits better in my scene. Thanks for the help!
