This is exactly what I was looking for to finally be able to synchronize my Lens Flare Wizard with an HDRI map. Thank you, thank you and thank you again for your tip! Your video saved my evening today 😁👍

I lol'd at the last section when you turned on contact shadows because up until that point I didn't even notice Suzanne's little mouth, and the effect the shadow had for me was that it literally popped this tiny little smile onto the model out of no where. Ha! That sun position add-on is *amazing* wow. I was all the more impressed when it automatically linked to the environment texture and also automatically moved the light to match the scene. The only manual thing I had to do was select the light (O__O) Thanks for sharing this!

Great tip! I didn't know about Sun Position, and I didn't know Ambient Occlusion was actually functional in Eevee.

Thnks for the tutorial, in the steep in minute 3:02 when click "Sync to texture" button, my HDRI doesn’t appears. Can you help me please, I reproduce the exact steeps that you made in the video, I'm using Blender 3.5.1
@5MinutesBlender Жыл бұрын
Hi, once you click on sync, you need to move your mouse to the viewport. The HDRI texture will appear in a second. Btw, in 3.6 this may be replaced with Pick Sun button instead of Sync.

I am using blender 2.81 The add-on called sun position is not available. What to do?? Thanks in advance
@5MinutesBlender2 жыл бұрын
Maybe the add-on is not supported anymore for 2.81, why don't you switch over to a more recent version? So many things have changed in Blender since then.

im trying to do this and when i link the sun to the Hdri its clearly not doing it right. it is almost the opposite
@5MinutesBlender22 күн бұрын
That sounds strange. Can you send file as-it-is to 5minblender@gmail.com so that we can investigate it and suggest you accordingly?

when i render it to an image or a video it renders without shadows, how can i fix this?
@5MinutesBlender Жыл бұрын
If you see a difference between viewport and rendered output, please check if your render settings are using the same setup as that of your viewport settings.
@KandiceTXJ9 ай бұрын
Thank you for this, I followed your instructions until the very end but now the HDRi has disappeared and no longer appears in viewport or after rendered. I'm not sure what happened. Any way to fix this? :(

It happens when I add the Light Path node...
@5MinutesBlender9 ай бұрын
Please check if your node setup is correct, it is possible that the connections are wrong (since Blender tries to automatically make connections when you add a new node like when you added the light path node). Basically we are switching between a static color and the HDRI input based on whether it is the camera view or not. So if your mix shader inputs gets jumbled up, like the sockets are exchanged, or the light path node itself is sitting in between the HDRI input and the mix shader, the output may be wrong. Please recheck it once.

@@5MinutesBlender Thank you, I appreciate the time and reply!! I re-checked everything and found that the options in my Light Path were in a different order, and had my connection to my Mix Shader set up to something else instead of from the Camera Ray. Strange. I referenced your video again for a new project and noticed this after I read your reply. Again, thank you!!!

Hai bro how to make this effect for several Cubes ?
@5MinutesBlender Жыл бұрын
You mean HDRI shadow for multiple cubes? If you setup the light properties correctly for one cube or for any one object, it should work the same for all your cubes automatically because the light settings are common for all your objects.

How to disable hdri shadows in blender cycles
@5MinutesBlender8 ай бұрын
Why do you want to do that? 🤔 While it's possible I think it won't look good. Anyway, use a background node, set the Alpha value to zero, and connect it with your original HDRI with a mix node. Add a Light Path node and connect its Is Shadow Ray output to the FAC input of the mix node.
