People often ask me why I insist on buying parts for my computer that glow and change color. "It doesn't do anything!" they say. What they forget is that, all throughout history, people have collected things for the sole purpose of them looking pretty. Gold is innately useless, but for ten thousand years it has been the most coveted material by mankind. Back in caveman days, having nice things meant you were so good at surviving, that you had time to get otherwise useless things that looked cool. It is now an almost innate behavior in humans to collect things that are beautiful for status. And while modern society doesn't necessarily value status in the same way, we still feel good having, and looking at, beautiful things. So it's a harmless way to feel good. Every time I turn on my computer, I feel good, because it's pretty. And that is the function of pretty things, to make you feel good.

This is the perfect video to watch if you need to put on morning tea in a hurry 😂 my mum had me bake her up a morning tea spread and set the table for an elderly Italian couple who took morning tea seriously and scones were on the menu I was only 12 so I baked both plain and sultana scones whipped cream and jam on the side, chocolate and coconut truffles, English pound cake with lemon zest buttercream and jam and cream sponge dusted with icing sugar on the top and this was the start of my passion for cooking 🧑🍳

Nicolas, I am a new follower in a small town near Houston, Tx. I am so delighted every time I watch one of your videos. They bring me so much joy. My bedroom, I have styled very much like yours. I would have never been so inspired and motivated without your videos. I am also following your advice on painting the furniture with chalk paint and white washing it. I restored two lamps and bought new lamp shades. Now to go shopping for artwork and some topiaries. You truly are an inspiration and my life is so much happier with you showing me how to enjoy and savor living in the present moment. Eternally Thankful, Jen 🌹❤️
