I have never had a hair dresser or stylist "educate" me on anything :-( And when I try to ask questions and learn, they always find a way to downgrade what they know or what they are doing, and then move onto something else. In addition to that, I've never had a stylist turn me to face the mirror, and when I ask, it's always some kind of excuse as to why they can't do it, blah, blah, blah...You rock my friend, all the blessings to you! Oh, how I wish I could find someone who would cut my hair this way. The stylist I used for over 30 years used this technique on my short, fine hair and it always looked amazing. She passed away unfortunately, and while I've gotten "decent" cuts since, they don't come close her genius. Can anyone tell me how I can find a stylist that uses this technique?

Awesome video! Thanks! I've been having problems finding a stylist or barber that can cut my sons hair where it isn't left looking like the hairstyles from the movie dumb & dumber. His hairs so fine that the texture always blends together. I've had to learn to do his hair myself to avoid this & it always has to be shorter than I'd like. Hi Michelle... sorry for the delay in response. I don't check the KZbin comments nearly enough! This works good for that texture as well... it's best not to create too many small holes (like a thinning scissor) in frizzy hair so big peaks and valleys are the way to go!

You've got to do exactly the same as here. Cut big deep texture into it. Thick coarse hair, when thinned, will go wirey and flyway like crazy. It's the hardest hair to actually cut because what seems to suit in the chair, if not done correctly, will be gone in a matter of hours.

Curly fine hair will react very well to this type of texture. You just need to make sure you leave enough density at your "peaks" so that the ends have friends to gather together.
