takes some practice! the automation has to be drawn in precisely as the slightest difference could be late / early.

But you can manipulate the frequency response straight from echo boy. what is the benefit for doing it this way?

yes, you can EQ the delay signal - it's really for convenience but you'll also notice subtle differences in the filtering and also Echoboy has some unique output modeling (saturation, distortion, etc)

+chris joshua If you're limiting, yes. Most of the time, the beat will already have master limiting done so to do it again will be overkill.

+Sean Divine general rule - if you're not using multi tracks for a beat and it's already at commercial levels, don't use a limiter on the master.

the vocals are being processed on an aux track, then I'm using a send to "throw" the aux signal to the channel with the delay processing on it

Make sure the track you made is an an Aux track. and if you're in pro tools a window will pop up with a fader that will initially be turned all the way down, make sure you either turn it up, or automate it so that whatever tracks are being sent to it are being affected by whatever plugins are on it. Also double check that all tracks are being sent to the correct buses/inputs
