From experience I can say that everything you said in your introduction is true. Changing my wardrobe did actually change my life. I am so much more confident now than I was 3 years ago when i began my style journey, I never have the ‘nothing to wear’ scenario because everything goes together and is my personal style and I feel 100% happier about myself. Thank you for making this video and sharing your knowledge with us.

Excellent intro Maria. Even though I am retired, even my casual outfits will have planning. I learned that from you. I am looking forward to this particular plan as I have to redo my spring/ summer wardrobe. Even if you are retired, there are events (volunteer, garden, exercising, church, etc.) Getting up and dressing in our favorites is such a blessing. Thank you.

Thank you Freddie I so agree. And I will cover how to take pieces from casual at home to a little smarter for other events 👍

So glad to see you resume your videos, and that you are feeling better. You asked for suggestions, so here goes. I live in Los Angeles, currently, am retired, and unless there is a special occasion, I dress in a very, very casual manner, i.e. leggings, t-shirts, some kind of coverup, and athletic shoes. I am also in the process of downsizing. My youngest son is heading off to college in the fall. All this said, it would be helpful to me to learn more about being stylish with a casual wardrobe. Your outfits are magnificent, and I see them as "going out to town, special occasion pieces". Maybe I'm wrong? My dilemma is what I put on when my going 'out' is limited to going to the grocery store, the farmers market, maybe a casual restaurant with my husband, etc.. My current choices leave me feeling down about how I look. The other area is that business wardrobe I collected, e.g. those beautiful, quality suits and blazers and knits that are 20-30 years old that still fit, but don't fit my lifestyle and are taking space in my closet. Thanks again. I'll be watching.

I am very excited about this series. I can relate with your first client who has nearly nothing in her wardrobe. I am retired, but am tired of looking dowdy. I have always found your videos inspiring and I know I will learn a lot from this series. Thank you!

I love what you are saying in these videos, especially regarding the client who used nature-based images. I find those inspiring too. I have come up from rock bottom when a lot of my clothing was actually torn or ruined, and I didn't have the things I needed. I'm also pretty confident with colour. But fingers crossed, this might be the year when I can have some help with the rest of it, which feels a bit overwhelming.

Thanks Maria, I am looking forward to the series. I love the colors displayed in your video, green and blue (my favorites!) My challenge is to find dresses that looks good on me (rectangle body shape), I am trying on a lot of dresses until I find the silhouette I love (haven't found it yet). May I add you are looking good these days! Makes me want to start afresh in the second quarter of this year also!

Excellent video and good to see you back. My wardrobe is chaotic. Full of tops, far too many, but nothing that I really feel confident in. Being an apple shape means constantly trying to hide by stomach. Your advice is always spot on.
@Mariafsadler Жыл бұрын
Thank you Gillian. I will be addressing body shapes in an upcoming video. It sounds like you also need to create more balance between pieces. Could you find one or two pairs of neutral trousers that would work with a lot of the tops? 😀
@gillianhill3196 Жыл бұрын
The problem for me is very slim arms and legs and huge waist, so trousers tend to flap around at the tops of my legs. It's not a good look. I wear maxi dresses in the Summer which look okay on me as I'm a reasonable height at 5' 6".
@paulinecrispin121 Жыл бұрын
Fully agree with having one 'head' inches right place. The main problem with my wardrobe is the a few years ago I lost weight and bought clothes when I was at my slimmest....and guess what much of is it too tight for me now 😢. Looking forward to other videos 😊.

That’s so frustrating and I can emphasise! I will talk about having pieces that work if your weight fluctuates 😀

Hello . So good to see you again. It’s so easy to get into a muddle with clothes. I am quite good at doing a cull but still need to ditch more . I have trouble finding clothes to fit . Narrow shoulders and a bit of an apple shape makes it really hard. Looking forward to your next video. Reagards L🌺🌺

Hi Maria. Looking forward to your new series. What do you think of the concept of hero pieces? Those that link to everything and inspire your colour schemes.

Hi Maria, looking forward to this series….now my problem is I am a bit of a dress freak so other than blazers or jean jackets not much matches, should I try and stop and now build up my separates? 🌸🌹🐝
@Mariafsadler Жыл бұрын
I think that the videos on personal style, accessories and colour will be really useful for you because it’s about wearing what you love so if dresses are more your thing you don’t have to have separates but it’s about making sure you have colours and accessories that make your wardrobe cohesive as well. 😀

My problem is my footwear. This has made me hate my wardrobe and now tend to wear the same pair of trousers and the same 4 tops!! I have plantar fasciitis so find it painful to wear any shoes with even the slightest heel and cannot wear sandals because I have to wear orthotics. I am an overweight apple shape. I tend to wear flat clarks shoes and trainers.
@Mariafsadler Жыл бұрын
I’m sorry to hear that Susan and I can empathise having had that condition a couple of times 🙁 maybe you could add some new pretty tops that draw the eye upwards and perhaps do a Google search for shoe alternatives x
