Hello Maria - are you going to create something similar for Spring 2025? Would love to see your inspirations

Very inspiring - putting the items into mini capsules. Up to now I have organized my clothes according to colors but putting them together into mini capsules on a reck is a new idea🤩 Thank you

I'm obviously late looking at this video Maria but it's very timely and I'm inspired by your success and sensible suggestions. Thank you! Kay

I think there is something to SCA especially with the subseasons. It’s a fact that some colors look better on us than others due to our coloring, genetics, etc. For example, I cannot wear black, white, or baby blue or pink without looking sick. I’ve been called both Autumn and Spring, so must be somewhere in between, but I know I’m warm toned. However I can crib a few Summer tones like dusty rose, mauve and lavender (the latter also in Spring) depending on levels of hue. But many of the colors in my palette (ivory/cream, camel, and olive green for neutrals, and any number of corals, peaches, teals, warm reds and warm versions of most colors do look better. The trick is to use SCA as a tool in the toolbox, not let it rule your life, unless you are very regimented and like the strictures of SCA.

Hmmm. Good ideas but I’m disappointed to learn that my wardrobe is boring, lacks personality, and is a mistake because I have a lot of neutrals. While you do state that it’s fine to wear neutrals if you like them, the message is framed in a very negative way.

Just found your channel and loved this video. I’m down 40 pounds on similar plan. My main problem has been getting enough protein on a restricted calorie intake. I’m on 1000 cals/day to achieve 1 pound a week loss. But your advice is right in line with my Dr. You look fabulous!!

I found your site a few years back and your work has inspired me in many ways. I finally got it and understand how to coordinate garments so they will work with other pieces in my wardrobe. I learned to design and sew my own clothing using some of your capsule garments ideas. I made pieces that would work with each other and go with at least 3 other garments. I then made a swatch book for all my fabrics that I have used and have in my stash. New fabric purchases need to also coordinate with existing fabrics and garments I have made. What I have learned from this process is to stop sewing or buying individual pieces because I needed an outfit or found it stylish in the moment. I don't want to sew or buy garments that will not serve the other pieces that are made with great intention. Taking photographs of my outfits and individual pieces while wearing them, has helped me to see how I really look. I can see what isn't working and I can make adjustments in pattern fit and define my style. I truly had few basics that would add or lend themselves to any other part of my wardrobe before I found your site. Thanks for all your efforts and sharing your experience.

You look fabulous. I stopped wearing lipstick because my “full lips” left me in my sixties. So lm kind of apprehensive using lovely rich colors.

I love many prints and patterns, too. Most of my fellow Americans think, for some unknown reason, that’s it’s somehow virtuous to not have any! I think the problem they might have had with prints is the one you address here, not having enough solid-color and neutral pieces to wear them with. I do have a lot of these which makes prints work well in my wardrobe.

Hey Maria, love how much colour you have used in your capsule wardrobe and pattern and style. Too many times we are ‘told’ stay neutral or only add pink and green for Spring and add burgundy, maroon and mustard yellow for autumn and then poor Winter has blue white maybe grey and black. Your wardrobes are so much better.❤

I am about to pack for a 2,5 week trip to Asia and of all the travel capsule wardrobe videos I watched so far, yours is the only one where I feel there are enough items to wear and not to have doing laundry every day. Thanks for the great video ❤

Hello Maria. I dropped back into this video just to say Thank You. I’ve studied many, many capsule wardrobes in “KZbin school”. Though my pieces would be different than yours, your presentation is spot on. Yours is the only one that I screen shot the final layout. Perfect for planning!

Always get the perfect dress when you find it. Because when you're looking for one for an event it seems like you never find the one you're looking for and always have to settle for something that is less than or not quite what you wanted...

I love summer colors and had sewn a complete wardrobe of lined wool heathered pinks, greens and blues. I loved those colors. Then I found out I was a winter. When I started wearing winter jewel tones, (which I’d considered garish) my skin glowed instead of looking muddy. I got compliments from strangers. I gave away all those blazers, skirts, trousers, and dresses that I’d slaved over for says and days. They had done me no favors.
@Mariafsadler4 ай бұрын
Some of the summer and winter colours cross over. Winter looks better with more contrast so you could still wear some of the summer colours and mix with a bright or a dark for the contrast. But I don’t use seasonal colour analysis as I find it too restrictive 👍

What a clever idea to take nature's colours as inspiration for a capsule wardrobe. I love that! Autumn colours are my favourites too. I will use your tips to create my autumn wardrobe. Thanks so much for creating such a useful video for us. I feel inspired now to dive into my closet and pull out my clothes for this season!

I bought that beautiful Aspinal of London “Woodland” print silk scarf in burgundy and khaki green last year. It amazes me how much I wore it already, but burgundy and deep greens are always in my autumn/winter wardrobes, it makes sense. The touch of soft white in it is flattering to my lighter coloring, too. In terms of cost per wear, it’s already earned its keep in my wardrobe and of course, I’ll get tons more wear out of it this autumn and winter. Burgundy and khaki/olive green are The Colors of Autumn 2024. What lovely inspiration and palette!
