Some people download free or paid clothes on a website called booth, but if you want your very own customization, this is a great technique to help you get started on making your own custom clothing as a VTuber.

So in VRoid Studio You can't import your own model as far as I am AWARE I could be wrong but not to my knowledge. Currently people make their base in VROID then bring it over to Blender to edit/model their own clothes. SO you could start with VRoid then move the model through your Blender ZBrush Process. Maybe try drawing on a new layer, you might have drawn the clothes on the same layer as the skin texture, which is why its erasing the skin when you erase.
