This is the perfect tutorial. I often want to modify patterns to work with another weight of yarn or something, and this video teaches how the pattern is designed, so you can do it yourself. Many teachers just say “chain 56”, but this breaks it down to help you understand why to chain 56, or any other number, so you can apply it to another project and design your own pattern. Thank you!!

Ive never understood why people come on YT and complain about how people choose to do their own tutorials. Yall are on here complaining about her voice, about the math she used, like she is supposed to make this tutorial to your standards. If you want a tutorial done a certain way, make it yourself. Fools on here complaining and obviously are watching this because you don't know how to do this already.

Thank you Ashley, for saying this! Thank you again for such a wonderful and easy to follow along pattern. I love how you go into so much detail and repeat things so much as some people do struggle and forget. Thank you again for sharing your talent with us and for another lovely tutorial xx

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this pattern and your clear explanation! I’ve literally searched for months for a pattern that allows me to use a more thin yarn (3.5 mm hook) for an adult size sweater. Those are surprisingly hard to find when it comes to crochet! Love that you explained how we can calculate ourselves so we can make whatever sizes we want. Perfect! Thank you again! 😊🙌🏼

I started crocheting this sweater last winter, and now I'm back on the road again. I guessed that the sleeves would be a bit too wide for me, so I did a decrease and it turned out good. I first did two rounds normally, and then I did a decrease in the following two rounds, the third and the fourth round of the sleeve. In each of these rounds I decreased two times. You can decrease only once per row, to make the decrease more subtle, the best thing is to do the decrease and the following several rounds and then to try it on. You can find some nice and clear videos on decreasing double crochet so that it does not turn out chunky. And, not to forget, thank you, WoolyWondersCrochet, for this useful lesson. Love!

Ok here's a summary for folks who want the 2 min version: To determine length of starting chain make sure it will fit over the head. Make it a multiple of four (four sides). For corner placement, make sure the difference between the short sides and the long sides is equal to the difference in sleeve circumference vs width of sweater that you want. Work rounds of dc. Do 3 dc along your raglans. Once you reach the armpits work rounds separately for body and for the sleeves. You can just join your rounds as you go flipping your work each round if you don't want it to have an open front. I recommend using a striping yarn if you want varied colors to avoid having a lot of yarn breaks.

The first part of this tutorial explaining how to adjust the size is wonderful. I always need to adjust patterns because of course, I like the pattern but it's either to small or too big. Now I will look into how to figure out multiples. In the meantime, I have made by adjustments and begun my sweater. You sound delightful. Especially the lilting accent. Whoever doesn't like it can hit "mute". The wonders of technology . LOL

Thank you for always being so detailed and precise with how you explain doing things! Helps me immensely. Ive been wanting to try this pattern for many month's. Been busy w other projects. I do wonder though, could this sweater be worked in any stitch I like? (To correct myself, I feel like a silly woman Lol. I kept messing up bcuz, i wasnt adding the ch5 at the end and everything was uneven.) Im glad i finally figured out where i messed up. Im adhd and sometimes I forget things. I ended up making a start for a doll dresse& larger 1 for my daughter jus as a tshirt. Now working on a dress for her with this and and a sweater for me. Planning on making sweaters now for Christmas gifts. Instead of all Afghans. Lol. Thank you so much. How do u make patterns for crochet? Id love to make some of my own.

Still in the middle of making it..but it is coming together great!

This is an awesome tutorial for someone who has never crocheted a raglan sweater before. I really appreciated the repetition because I'm a bit of a beginner, and you have such a pleasant voice, so I didn't mind listening! I found the math to be plenty simple, so idk what others are complaining about. I watched it while knitting so I didn't feel like the video took up a ton of my time, and it was so in-depth, which was very helpful. I do have a question: when you say that the sleeves can be crocheted in a length that complements the body, is it a 1:1 proportion, or should the sleeves be shorter/longer than the body at a certain ratio? I scoured the video for a shot of the completed sweater that included an entire sleeve (to count the rows), but there wasn't one ): Thanks again for the great tutorial!!!!

I think you would just work the top in the round, joining the foundation chain at the top and going round and round until you're ready for the arm holes, rather than chaining one, turning, and going back the way you came. Then for the arm holes and the bottom, follow her procedure and work in the round. That's what I'm going to try. The only hitch might be needing to make a larger neck opening since you won't have any buttons. To alternate between the right side and wrong side, I think you'd have to switch your hook at the end of each round between inside and outside.
