This may well be my first try on a garment. My bonus daughter is always cold. I learned very young but had to relearn after several strokes. So now I'm a proud righthanded crafter. @@TuckersMom23 I'm so glad you were able to recover and re-learn how to crochet. It is incredibly frustrating having no control over your life. Over time I regained the use of my hands😁 however my feet have not fully recovered. I'm just happy I can take care of myself and him along with the doggo.

I learned to crochet at the age of 11 from my 5th grade teacher. And even though my mother and grandmother crocheted, the art lay dormant in me until 5 years ago (at age 54) when inspiration struck me to crochet a blanket for my first (and only) grandchild’s arrival. The learning curve was made easier thanks to my teacher all those years ago, and I haven’t put down my hooks since then! It's been difficult over the years to find crochet sweater patterns that I actually like! This one is SUPER cool and I'm excited to crochet this (with a few minor adjustments for personal preference) once I get caught up with a few other WIPs. 😉 I was 12 or 13 when my grandmother taught me how to crochet. First, she had me start with a chain to get my tension down. Then, she taught me how to make a granny square. As I got busy with "typical teenage life," crochet got set aside for "more important things." However, when I met my former mother-in-law in my mid-20s, I quickly discovered that she was an AVID crocheter!! I was SUPER impressed that she had the ability to turn ANY knit pattern into a crochet pattern just by looking at a picture (especially since she didn't knit!). I quickly picked up my crochet again and have been doing it ever since. I won't ever forget the time when I was a struggling single mom and my sons needed winter apparel. I was SUPER grateful to these women that I was able to make hats and mittens for my kiddos to help keep them warm that winter! Thankfully, I've had the opportunity to teach both of my sons how to crochet (and knit). It's comforting to know that they both now have the skills to keep themselves warm if/when needed. Hopefully they will someday have the opportunity to pass those skills along to a future generation. 😊

I truly like the selection of patterns you offer and the tutorials you provide, which are very helpful. I started Crocheting and Knitting at 10yrs, my Aunt who was also my Godmother, taught me to knit and the house maid who worked for our neighbor taught me to crochet. All of this happened in Tanzania. Now I am so grateful to both of those ladies who gave me this precious skill which is calming and helps me deal with my autoimmune disease. I sincerely hope I win.

I was about 9 when my Mother taught me bother crochet and knitting. I liked crochet better though. Now 50 years later I'm getting back into the "Fiber arts " and love all the new patterns you can make instead of the original Granny Square. Also the beautiful yarns that are available now is amazing!!!!

My nana taught me to knit and crochet when I was probably around 5-7, but I never did anything with them until I went to college. In college, I taught myself how to read knitting patterns and started knitting again, but it took me until I was 59 to do anything with crochet! I just love KZbin because I find beautiful patterns, stitches, etc. and lessons on how to read the patterns.

I started crocheting 4 yrs ago by watching KZbin videos. The first thing I made was a version of EFA's Cirrus sweater. I watched the video and made it my own. I've always crocheted sweaters or kimonos. Just recently started following a pattern and I'm now working on a pattern for a poncho from EFA. I love the videos and the yarn is beautiful! Looking forward to working more EFA projects and getting better following patterns.

My Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 9. She only made doilies with size 10 crochet thread and small steel hooks. So doilies were the first things that I learned to crochet. And I have been crocheting ever since. I am 71 now and I am trying to learn to knit. It's been a struggle. But watching your videos on learning how to knit is really helping me. Thank you for all you do!!!

I started to crochet at age 6 or 7. My grand mother crocheted and I took a real interest in it. She taught me with a K crochet hook which I still have. The basics chain, sc, hd, of course over the years I put crochet aside but I picked it back up again thanks to my sister in-law helping me and You Tube. I love this sweater and might have to get it a try. Thank you for sharing the free pattern.

I learned how to crochet when I was 32. A neighbor taught me how to do a chain stitch and single crochets. I started with an entire blanket of single crochets & it was the most lopsided piece of fabric! 😂 my next set of projects was about 50 hats. I used various yarns and stitches and made every hat different in order to learn more. I donated the hats and continued to learn new techniques how to craft various types of projects (hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, blanket, and amigurumi). Today, I’m working on my first sweater & continuing my journey of learning and making! 💖✨ Thank you for this video. I appreciate the energy you share and the clear guidance you provide. 💖✨

My earliest memory was of my mom sitting me down with a hook and yarn, showing me a stitch and having me do it over and over. I don't think i was older than 8 or 9. I also remember that at first she would have to redo all my work but eventually i got really good at making even stitches. I recently picked it up again, about 4 years ago. Never had i ever read a pattern so that was totally new for me. Now my time is split between knotting and crocheting.
