I'm starting on the sleeves but I only did 3 rows for the under arm increases. There is 6 rows in total on the arm pit area when I joined the front and back panels. Is there a specific rule on when to add double, half doubles, and single crochets?
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
Nope! you just want it to even out so you do and adjust where you see it, but make sure it's even on both sides. 😊
@julicroissaint8292 Жыл бұрын
When working on the sleeves at around 26:20 how do you know when to do half double crochet and when to single crochet? Does it have an effect on how the sleeve fits?
@TCDDIY Жыл бұрын
That part is completely up to you! 😊 We just need the Single Crochet's to be near to the center because we eventually want the sleeve to become completely horizontal. The amount of numbers of the Stitches doesn't matter. as long as the Stitches along the outer edge is taller than the middle you're good! 💕

Arm hole. You cant continue same count of stitches for 7 rows when you have increases. Please explain! I put alot of work into this top to stop now
@arikepuic4 ай бұрын
what I think she meant was that at first she did two increases of back loop dc in two sc at the beginning and the end, then 6 back loop dc, 2 back loop hdc and 3 back loop sc. So as you go there will be more dc, but there is the same amount of back loop hdc and back loop sc throughout. So, after doing 2 increases, 6 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 hdc, 6 dc and 2 increases you would go 2 increases, 8 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 hdc, 8 dc and 2 increases. At least thats what I did and it doesnt look bad. Hopefully you figured it out earlier tho, considering your comment was left here a month ago without any answer or advice. The final product is really cute it would be a shame to not finish it!

@TCDDIY4 жыл бұрын
Ohhh, you got started right away!? What color are you making it in? Yeah, gaps happen when putting 3 into a stitch you could do 1 of 2 things. 1. on the increase side do and increase of 2 into the last 2 stitches instead of 3 into the last since we need is the extra stitch. 2. leave it as an increase of 3 and when we single crochet around the top later in the video when placing your single crochet you can place it on top of the gap to use that as a way to cover it up. Up to you. 😊 Hope that helpssss! If not let me know!

For the bell sleeves, I don't have multiples of 14, so how would I increase? Is it 2 or 3 increases per increase row?
@TCDDIY2 жыл бұрын
The numbers don't have to be in multiples of 14, just increase and many times as you can (given with the number of increases from the tutorial) and if you have some stitches left over for the rest of the row just do those stitches with no increases since it wont add up to 14. 😊

Hi just wanna know if i can make this without the off shoulder sleeves?
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
Of course! You can follow these sleeves until it reached where you do the vertical stitches then follow back to this sleeve for the bell.😁

do we need to crochet tight or loose?
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
I'd say keep a medium grip. The Back Loop Half Double Crochet's have some stretch too it so you don't want it to be too loose, otherwise it may be gappy. 😊

I am making this top now in red for my god daughters mother. Unfortunately, I am stuck at the sleeve, because there is no way to make it even without skipping stitches to make them even or adding more stitches as i go along. I did with the extra stitches and took the whole thing out and now I'm starting again. It came out a lot bigger. How do I fix this?

how many chains would a size large of this be
@TCDDIY2 жыл бұрын
Our patterns/tutorials give chain and row counts for a size small as a reference and helpful tips on where to measure for other sizes/fits to ensure you get your perfect fit, so it's a "measure along" technique. 😊 All of those tips are within the tutorial with visuals as well! If you have any questions about it i'm more than happy to answer them for you as well. 😊❤️

Is there a way to add a hood to this one?
@TCDDIY2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, with this one in particular i'd say now since the back panel is so low making the hood would be difficult to get the sizing right. Thanks for asking though! We do have something bell sleevey/hood in out sketchbook. Hopefully we can get to it soon! 😊
@Chaos__Pigeon2 жыл бұрын
@@TCDDIY ya I had seen the cord one just can't stand doing cords so I may just alter the back some for a hood

How do you continue the pattern on the sleeves since you are increasing
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
You increase in the same row sequence as previously explained. If you could give me a time stamp of where you're at i'd love to help out. 😊

may i know how many grams of yarn you used for this?? and do you have any advice to make sure that i dont make it too big
@TCDDIY3 жыл бұрын
I don't know how many grams off the top of my head, but you can find all the tools at the beginning of the video. 😊 Hmmm, something that I do is when I'm measuring it on my body I make sure that i'm placing it in the same spot every time. Sometimes I pen mark my body to ensure that. Kinda silly, I know, but it works!

With a lot of projects I've tried to measure and adjusting to my size, but end up making it bigger than necessary :( any advice?
@TCDDIY4 жыл бұрын
Let me just say, you're not the only one. I still make my pieces too big sometimes. When putting them up to myself I make sure that, for example, the side seam is where it will for sure be on my body (I've been know to pen mark my body to make sure the end doesn't move) and make sure when stretching it the side stays where I marked. NOT saying you have to mark your body, but do make sure the placement doesn't move when you're measuring it. 😁 Hope that helps!

@@TCDDIY never even thought of that before and I'll definitely give it a try. I'm sure it'll make a difference
