I started watching Jenna recently because of her home reno videos and have been loving her crochet/knitting projects! I found a bunch of crochet stuff in my basement yesterday, so I'm gonna finally start! It's intimidating getting into new skills, especially something like this where you're, like, materializing fabric out of string, so it's nice to see the process of her first project!

I LOVE CROCHETING!!!!! I learned to crochet when I was 4 years old. I'm 21 now, so I have been crocheting for over 17 years. It does get easier over time. It's my favorite hobby and has helped me relieve a lot of stress over the years.

Hey there! Crocheter of about 2-3 years here (I’ve lost track). Just wanted to say that you did an amazing job for this being your first project! People usually start with just beanies/scarfs, but the fact you started out with a tank top is sick! If you ever wanted a tip about stitch counting, use a stitch marker! Stitch markers are a life saver when keeping count of your stitches. It also wouldn’t hurt to write down stitch counts/rows when working on a project too. I do it all the time!
@moniakopp27743 жыл бұрын
You are doing great! A little tip for a straight edge is to not skip any loops when you turn your work, and begin on a new row. Also count your stitches so you know if you missed one!

Yeah do it ! I've started last month and I love it so much. Is definitely a bit hard at the beginning because you need to get accustomed to holding the thread and all but then it's easy breezy lemon squeezy. Just get crappy cheap yarn to begin with so you won't be too sad if you mess up and all your fears will go away !

idk if you know how to knit but it’s surprising easy to do like rectangles and such. idk if it was easier bc i can already knit or not.

if you want it to look even and not crooked, i think you should block it. blocking means you soak it in water, ring it out, and lay it flat to dry on a towel in the correct shape. that will help with unevenness. also, knitting uses needles and crochet uses hooks. check out ravelry for a lot of patterns.
