It’s so great to look back at your first garments to see how far you’ve come! (My first few projects are in a box somewhere 😅) love the tip on using an elastic thread for the hem and the green yarn! 💚

holy moly I've been crocheting for almost 10 years & now I *have* to learn the i-cord after seeing you do it. my straps for tops & bags are about to get an upgrade! looove the green colour as always, great job on the cute top 🌞
@sophieneedham97382 жыл бұрын
I made this top based off the original about a year ago! I never wear it because it was also the first thing I made and it doesn’t fit very well, but I still love it! So proud of how far you’ve come

Wow! HUGE improvement! Way to go Jenna!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I’ve seen some comments saying that you can do an i-cord in crochet too. Another way to make a nice thin but sturdy strap and to just chain the length you need, attach to the other side and slip stitch back along the chain. To make it a bit thicker you can single crochet back along the chain. And if you make this top again you can also shape the bottom with increases so you don’t have to use elastic thread if you don’t want to. I’m super impressed with how this turned out! I’m also designing a garment with crochet☺️ I’m making a lightweight cardigan with lacey sleeves and a ruffled trim kind of like peplum shape. And I’m using dk yarn so it’s very drapey. Super excited for how it’ll turn out!!

You've improved so much! The top is so cute. I love the shape you gave it instead of just making a rectangle. If you are interested in a crochet version of the cord you made, I recommend an i-cord! There are tutorials on KZbin for it. :)

So I think that the first top is great for your first try. I’ve been crocheting for 2 months now and my first project was ambitious, a round pin cushion for my grandma. Lol. Right now I’m making a patchwork cardigan. I love crocheting while watching ur vids. So glad I found u this morning.

I bet that first garment could be added to, to make it look better - trim/edging, embroidery, or, I don't know, you're creative. And nothing wrong with mixing crocheting with knitting (the I-cord), or wearing knit piece with crochet piece.

Yeah, something freaky about toothpaste - can cause me to twinge or twitch or whatever. I stick with plain old baking soda and for mouthwash a few drops of clove oil in glass of water (lasts a few days), and chew on cloves.

Watching a bunch of your videos because I'm really excited to try crocheting again (I've only ever dabbled) and you're so relatable. I've never been a cheerleader either and also thought I was allergic to toothpaste. Turns out I was just allergic to sulfates and they started adding them to all the mainstream toothpastes so now I just have to buy brands that aren't always available in store and look at labels carefully. Hope you figured out what your toothpaste issue was! Can't wait to crochet something... and not worry if it's not perfect. 😊

the new top looks great! such an improvement. i'm a bit curious about the sentence structure that you use. is it a canadian thing to remove prepositions or switch words around? for example you said "i am done my top" in the video rather than "my top is done" or "i am done with my top". not trying to be rude, just have noticed it and was curious
