I started this thinking "oh, the video is 1h30, this will take me no more than 3h." (oh, young naive past me) 3 hours later, I'm only 30min into the video and I've never admired your skill and speed so much. Also, this head is already looking so cute *.*

Ok so I'm now on round 22 and I clearly messed up somewhere cause my left side is perfect but the right side of the yellow part is a mess :( Your instructions are perfect Louie, I'm just really bad at counting! *sigh* I'm divided between taking it all appart and restart on the first time I added yellow, but it kills me to throw 2 hours of work away. I think I'm gonna keep going and accept that some Chubzillas are not perfect but they are still beautiful in their own way. Will keep you posted!
@ClubCrochet4 жыл бұрын
@@MariaFM6 I'm sorry about the struggle. Are you following the written instructions too? Here's the thing, it's not throwing away 2 hours of work, it's experience and learning. This pattern, like all patterns (at least for me) is a lot easier the second time you make it. The good thing is this project is relatively small, imagine spending 15hrs on a blanket and realizing that the yarn you were using is running out and they don't sell it any more 😡 hahahaha
@MariaFM64 жыл бұрын
@@ClubCrochet Hi Louie! I decided to keep going and love it either way. I've just finished it! I tagged you on my instagram story, so you can check it out. If you want, I can post it to the facebook group as well. My problem was that on the right side the yellow part was increasing more than on the left side, so it doesn't make a perfect "circle". It still looks super cute and my baby cousin will love it, I'm sure! I was following the writen instructions as well as the video, but I got super confused on rounds 16 and 17 because of my counting method (I was counting like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, increase, 1,2...) basically I didn't keep count like you did, in multiples. I am very sure my problem was miscounting. Also I think I wasn't doing the transition for yellow back to green right :/ I should have writen it down like "on the 3rd repeat, do 3 and then change colour and do 2 and then increase" to keep up better but I thought it would be fine... learned my lesson, next time I'll plan ahead xD This was also a bit of a challenge cause (thanks to covid) I'm living in the middle of nowhere and with no crafting stores around, I was working with scraps of terrible yarn that separated into literally 8 strands pretty much every other stitch and *ugh*, I'm sure if I had the right materials this would have been even easier! (also I used buttons instead of safety eyes for the same reason). I will definitely try this pattern a second time, but you have so many other cool ones that I can't wait to try them too! I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to work 15 hours and then not being able to buy more yarn :o I'm sure you will find an awesome way around it! Sorry for the LONG comment, I really love your channel and from being a zero at crochet to making my first amigurumi, I'm just so excited! Thank you a billion for all your hard work :D
@bobiijae7903 жыл бұрын
Yeah some of these stuffed animal patterns are definitely not beginner friendly like if you don't know how to do magic circles or you know certain kinds of stitches it's best to type in like beginner friendly amigurumi you know what I mean I started straight out with a jellyfish which is pretty easy to do and now I'm doing voodoo dolls dinosaurs giraffes llamas and stuff like that but if you start out with something really hard and you get good at it everything else is going to be simple

My 11 year old granddaughter requested this Chubzilla and even sent me this link. I’m a knitter, not a crocheter. But I followed the video, used chenille yarn so it’s soft and cuddly, and got it done. In fact, it’s so cute, I kinda don’t want to give it away!

@@crochetallthedayaway1620 Well, I started knitting a hat top down with the rest of the yarn (Bernat Velvet, I think). It has absolutely no spring. Even with K1, P1 ribbing, it just got more and more huge. So, I let it be huge to about 12". Then I decreased the ribs on the end, stuffed it with a 12" poly-stuffed pillow form, and called it a pillow. I tried to paste a photo on here for you, but evidently I can't do that. Oh well. It came out cute and so cuddly. Thanks for asking!

Question when making the body, for round 9 25:43 does the first increse stitch happen before or above the first increase stitch of round 8? Becs mine starts on the top of round 8ths increase stitch and when it does that my second increase stitch goes beyound where the bottom increase stitch is. Like ive been watching the video over and over and read ur instructions carefully and seem to be doing everything correctly so i am not sure if this is correct. Furthermore for some reason whenever i reach this part everything starts to unaligned, which is very notible when starting the torsou area where the color change happens I have been redoing this project that i am in such a loss that i am not sure what to do 😭😭😭

@susanvasquez36252 жыл бұрын
Any reason not to: A. Adjust the increase so you still make 6 per round, but they are all in the first color? Or evenly in the tummy color? I just think that would look neater. B. Carry the first color along the tummy, not cutting it each color change? Pretty sure the snug SCs would hide it completely. Maybe even carry the belly color along the back, though that would just be laziness, LOL Beautiful work, I'm glad I stumbled across this!
@susanvasquez36252 жыл бұрын
Actually, you wouldn't even need to carry it, just drop the color and pick it up when needed. Since it will be inside, no one would even see it.

Extreme beginner question here: Whenever he is doing an increase I don't see any difference between the single crochet procedure. What am I missing? I looked it up in other videos too but I still don't understand how the increase happens, it looks the same to me :(

An increase means instead of doing one single crochet into a stitch, you do two single crochets into the stitch. So for example, if you begin with 6 stitches in round one and put an increase in every stitch for round 2, you will end up with 12 stitches at the end of round 2 rather than the 6 that you started with. I hope this helps!
