Thank you for the explanation on Red Heart Super Saver yarns. I made my first strip of 87 rows, but I cannot get my other strips in other colors to be the same length. Your explanation that different colors seem to have different thicknesses makes sense now. It looks like I will have to increase my row count to match my original strip.

If your have a different amount of border clusters (to make the length correct) how can you attach as you go ? I do love this stitch and I am using the same brand yarn, but one row has 77 (shells) and the other 81! Lol so my white border are not the same. Btw you do wonderful tutorials
@CrochetItForward5 жыл бұрын
Denise you should have the same amount of clusters for each strip in order for the white border count to come out correct. The clusters will match even though some of my strips were thicker/ thinner. If you have a different count on your strips the white border will not come out. Adjust your shell strips to the same count. Hope that makes sense. TY for the compliment on my videos. I'm by far an expert but a proud WIP. ☺

@@CrochetItForward yes, that makes perfect sense. My crocheting does not. Lol. Its studio stitch yarn from A C Moore. I am familiar with the Mile-A-Minute afghan...but I have been using the "Annie Way" (from an Annie's Attic pattern book I purchased at Hobby Lobby about 25 years ago). Now that I have watched this tutorial, I am tossing out the the old "Annie's" pattern for this one! I never could connect/assemble that Annie's Mile-A-Minute strips. The instructions were to whip stitch the strips (which never matched up). I am new to the Join As You Go and would rather assemble the entire strip with either a single crochet or slip stitch. Is this possible?
@CrochetItForward5 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. You can follow my join as you go and instead of crocheting a cluster, just make a chain. For example you will still slip stitch to join squares only you would make 1 chain or 2 chains before your next slip stitch. Let me know if that helps. 😊
@lindarobey89355 жыл бұрын
@@CrochetItForward Thank you for the quick response. I'm not quite following you on the chain stitch. You were chaining one after each slip stitch and before each cluster in the video. I am just practicing right now...no big project until maybe Easter or early summer. I'll just keep watching this video...the more I watch and pause, the more I learn. How do you think this would be for a blanket? I have a lot of scrap yarn. Or what about chunky yarn for a blanket? These are good little pieces that I could crochet anywhere.
@CrochetItForward6 жыл бұрын
debbie bennett you can make the strips in lots of different colors by joining the scrap yarn to each other as you go for a scrapghan. 😊 Also, double up on the yarn with a bigger hook and you get a bigger blanket. BTW for my new cozy winter mile-a-minute afghan. I have added to this original pattern, doubled the yarn and used a size 10 hook. It's super warm and works up even quicker. Expect to upload this in the next few days if my schedule permits! :)

In your discussion box is says to use a 6.5/J hook. But that is wrong. A 6.5 is a k hook
@vegangelist5 жыл бұрын
Robyn White A K hook is a 6.5 mm. That's what she said in the video. In the description box, there's just a typo. But in the video she clearly states that it is a K hook. But that just illustrates how goofy the American hook size lettering system is! J and K mean nothing. They are arbitrary, somewhat, and they quantify nothing. J or K, who cares? She gave the pertinent info, that it is a 6.5mm. Saying 6.5mm tells you EXACTLY what it is, which is a 6.5mm hook.
