Ok, so I'm super impressed. You're left handed, but you're a right handed crocheter.

Helpful tip for fewer tails if you don't want to carry- just switch colors (dropping main color), and then add a 2nd ball of the main color on the other end of the heart. You will need bobbins or to untwist your balls every now and then, but you can continue the MC on the top, AC in the middle, and MC on the bottom without cutting any yarn until your MCs meet up in the middle again, or you know the next row is all MC.
@McQueenFam2 ай бұрын
@wynamaarp7024 That's why suggested dropping the MC, and then adding a 2nd ball of the MC after the accent color. Because then you're not carrying it, and you don't have to keep cutting and reattaching your main color each row. Just keep one attached at the top of the heart, one attached at the bottom of the heart. Then when you get to your accent color, switch like normal, dropping the MC to the wrong side, then when you're finished with the AC, attach a NEW ball of the same main color to make your switch. Then, turn, start the next row. Drop MC to switch to AC, crochet to end of section, drop AC and switch to MC.

You’d still have floats though
@McQueenFam2 ай бұрын
@@Spajari No, I don't. I do this all the time. You're literally finishing your last main color DC with your accent color, and then you finish your last DC of your accent color with your new main color ball. You're not carrying the MC yarn along the backside of your accent color. I'm half tempted to just crochet it right now to show you that there are no floats. I usually make at least 3 C2C blankets a year. If you know what you're doing and you do it right, there are no floats for something simple like this. More complex color work that entails switching between several colors, and having any sort of pattern that might require the repetition of a few colors, yes, you might have a hard time hiding some yarn. But with this very basic, 2 color C2C, design that only has you changing colors twice per row, there will be no floats.

I make bobbins using large clothes pins. Then you can clip them to your project.
@McQueenFam2 ай бұрын
@erikagholston6610 I had to steal some of my husband's clips from the garage. My clothespins don't like to hold onto a bigger amount of yarn. Maybe I need bigger clothespins.🤣

I think C2C is one of the best things for beginners to learn. I kept getting frustrated and quitting when I first started out cos I was missing stitches, whereas with C2C it's basically impossible. I've made 4 baby blankets for my friends and with a colour changing yarn they're really striking

Omg after my mind is you a leftie and crocheting right handed, haha, I always saw where you carry bobbins and floats. I'd much rather cut my yarn and weave ends, I've grown to love weaving ends and I wasn't always like that haha. This is a great video and now maybe I'll finally work on a ton of charts I've downloaded over the years and finally do a graphgan. Thanks Toni!❤

As a fellow lefty - I feel BETRAYED Ms. Toni!! 🐝- trayed. LOL I can't crochet right handed, I tried so hard, years ago when my right-handed coworker first taught me to crochet, so I'm stuck trying to reverse all the things you do in my head. I'm still a little confused on this - as a left-hander should I still start from the right corner and mark the up and down the same way, or start from the left corner? Or am I overthinking it? My fear is that I've bit off more than I can chew with the Amour blanket CAL, I hope I can finish all the blocks!
