I really like your video. The technique is fantastic, and was so nice of you to create a video in English to explain it, plus give the credits to your original source. Very ethical. I'm looking forward to watch your others videos. 😊

I was so sure this method would be difficult I ignored your video every time I came across it. Which was pretty dumb because, it's rather simple and you explained it beautifully! Thank you so much! Now I can't wait to start my next tapestry crochet project. Thanks again!

I went in same stitch pull up a loop then went through the next pull up a loop then pull through all three loops. Does amazing in graphs.. I only done in the round with words and looks way better than any I have seen but looks very close to this. I will have to try it this way or try it the way I tried to explain with the yarn being carried so I don't have to just do in the round. Been trying to explain my way but I'm not good at explain.. Thank you for sharing and teaching..

I am glad you find it useful. I am even considering working a mochilla bag with this stitch and see how it turns out. I am not sure if it were an old technique. I learned about it through Alfekka as I have mentioned in the video but it took me a while to play, pause and rewind because I depended solely on her hands movements. I don't speak her language and there were no English subtitles. But this stitch is definitely easier when carrying multiple yarn than working sc-blo.

I'd love to see how this works in the round, would you go through the v first and then find the extra loop at the back (rather than going through the loop before the v of the stitch)?
@ErinisCorner
@ErinisCorner 2 жыл бұрын
Working in the rounds is a bit different since it's kind of brick stitches rather than stacked stitches. I will probably need to make a video for it to explain it better.

You do the same in the round and rotating your work. She does her different. Go under 2 V's the one she first goes under follow that through a you will have the 2 vision on top. It comes together way clearer. If you go on the page she got this stitch from watch the second row if the cat head bag. Scroll down in her feed.. I the round and doing front and back the from thing she goes under has another half go under. Both sides are twins so when you rotate to go up other side you are going to do the same thing. It is tight at first but then becomes easy it sets itself up.. in the round do the same. The lady don't have English so you just have to slow the video down to see what she is doing. But the second round is what I always have done it just looks very clean and nice almost like the knit stitch but with a extra stitch. I guess that's why they call it a wide stitch. I also do tighter so it stays close together. Not knocking anyone my opinion I guess but try it once, I bet you will like it way more. I have never seen the stitch before. Also, I only carry my background yarn I drop my other color or colors sometimes. Just play around with this stitch. It in my opinion the best one i have seen for anything graph.. I used macrame rope I guess it would be cotton and it is so nice.. coasters, slippers all kinds of things. Everyone loves this stitch when they see my earwarmers I put my sons football nunber a heart and his high school initials and team colors and for basketball. Hobo bags. It's a nice becauee it is thicker and holds and don't stretch..

Is it possible to do this stitch with more than 2 colours? I assume you would have to carry all the yarn at the beginning. Thank you for the video 😊
@ErinisCorner

You can, however you wanna make sure you are using light weight yarn in such a case or otherwise the end result will be too stiff

Hi.. I'm glad you like the video. I, honestly, haven't tried this with more than 2 colors. However, I did tapestry (using sc) before with 4 colors but with weight 2 yarn. I would assume you can till use this technique while choosing a lighter weight yarn (2 or 3 max).

This is great! Thank you! I a question,, does it make a heavier project? Like a afghan, would it be stiffer and heavier?
@ErinisCorner
@ErinisCorner 4 жыл бұрын
MrsBooklover55 Glad you like it ❤️. If you go with a small hook size, which is what we usually when using regular sc stitches for graphgans to hide the carried yarn, it will be stiff. You will need to go with either the hook size recommended on the yarn you are using or even bigger if your yarn is still hidden properly. I'm a tight crocheter as well so this is another parameter to consider. I would suggest a swatch before you start working on the big project. 🙂

Would this technique work with a tapestry that uses more than 2 colors❓ Or will it get way too bulky❓
@ErinisCorner
@ErinisCorner 8 ай бұрын
Yes. However, you need to consider the stiffness of the final product... If you use weight 4 yarn, the project will not be flowy. You may want to use a thinner yarn or a bigger hook. A swatch will be helpful to guide you.

Erini's Crochet Corner were graphs used meant to be only one sided? I’m wondering if a graph I have, meant for regular single crochet could also be used doing this method? Love your channel
@ErinisCorner
@ErinisCorner 4 жыл бұрын
I chose a couple of graphs from Pinterest. They were random ones. So I would assume it will work with any other graphs as long as there are no letters involved. It is still can be used for letters and numbers but at that point you have to decide which side will be your right side and work accordingly. I would love to see your progress with this method using your graph should you decide to go with it. If you are on Facebook or IG, please tag me @crochetcorner0. I'm glad you like it 😉
