I have made several 0-3 mo hooded jacket and loved how they turned out and didn't have any problems. People loved their gifts. This one row 1 I'm getting 67 sts when I'm only supposed to have 63 sts and I'm doing what the pattern says. I have family with kids that will be growing into this size and I would love to make this for them.

Ok so I fudged the first few rows then I sailed through the pattern .... it was easy and quick and I have to say turned out adorable , I used the same color but then I added some fun fur ( NOT the eyelash yarn ) around the edge of the jacket and edge of the hood and omg !!! So so cute ... I love the fur added ... Im going to make another one .. hee hee thank you Jenny

I have an issue with row 3. I find that my 11th hdc lands at the V stitch and no matter how many times I keep unraveling and redoing the thing, it still lands there....your video is too fast at that section so can you tell me if that is where the 11 hdc should be and if so, should I then do the V stitch in the chain 1 space right next to it? Please help, thanks!

You do V sts in the chain 1 space. If you can jut add extra stitches or decrease stitches everytime when you encounter you had extra or less stitch. Do not to unravel. Just make sure your V stitch is in the V sts chain 1 space from previous round. If this video is too fast, you may slow it down by clicking on the setting on your screen. Hope that helps.🤗

Hi Lucie. The yarn I used in this video is Lion Brand Pound of love and it's medium weight #4 but it's thinner #4. I suggest you to use medium #4 maybe Red Heart with Love and use 5.50mm crochet hook.

I wrote a comment yesterday but it’s disappeared! I’m using double knit yarn that is quite thin. I’m up to row 13 and it’s coming up in newborn size and definitely won’t fit my 6 month old. I’m using double crochet stitch so length is ok. I need to start again so I was wondering how many stitches to add to each bit in between the v stitches to make a bigger size? Hope you can help. Hi. This tutorial require a medium weight yarn #4 ( thicker than DK yarn). What I can suggest is that to double strand the yarn to get the size 6-12 months. Maybe you can start row 1 as below and carry on the increase on every row. chain 73 Row 1: 12 hdc (start from 3rd chain from hook), V sts, 13 hdc, V sts, 17 hdc, V sts, 13 hdc, V sts, 12 hdc.

HI Maria, you can try 5.50mm hook and change the yarn to slightly thicker yarn (maybe worsted weight #4). In this video I used medium weight #4 but this is in the thinner side of #4.

I guess you just chain an measure it round your neck until it sits comfortably round your neck without strangling you, then divide the beginning row into 5 parts similar to what she did on row 1. You'll have a lot more stitches to divide. Find the percentage of the back against the sleeves and then the front. Will then be able to work out for larger size chains. Jules

HI Sharon. I don't have for boy but you can use this pattern and just skip the shell stitch at the sleeves and last shell row at the body. Also you can skip the increase part at row 25 & 26, so just continue row 24 until row 30. (chain 1, 63 hdc)
