This is a very good tutorial! I made several flowers in an hour. I admit I’m not a beginner crocheter but some tutorials weren’t as good as this one. It took time to weave in those ends and but they look much better to weave in the ends, except the last petal working yarn. I made them into flower hair tie 🌸, attaching each cute flower to a hair rubber band I got whole bunch from Target some time back. I’m giving a few to my sister and friends they love these cute stuff especially that I handmade them 😆. I think these are just very cute just having one on my wrist too, makes my day cheerful! 💕✨ Thanks for the great tutorial!

After looking at patterns and attempting to view other tuts, I am so thankful to have found yours, because now I have actually, finally, produced a puff stitch flower! It's so CUTE! I like your technique of pulling the strands up from the same sc, instead of dipping into the next ones to do more stitches for a single "petal"...this technique is just so much more logical to me! Brittany, THANK YOU! :D

Love your tutorials. I am a beginner and get so frustrated that they say "you need to do the magic circle so if you don't know how search for a tutorial then come back to this one" and they start after that part. I have reccomended that my fellow hookers subscribe to your channel too cause I LOVE the Yarn Scrap Friday videos. So nice to have so many options to do with scrap yarn. Keep up the amazing work.

Oh boy, I do hope you are still keeping an eye on this channel. I have been doing crochet for years. Not bitty bitty flowers. These are cute, cute and look very easy. I've committed to make dozens if not hundreds of very small flowers for a group to use on different projects. Anything from tags to altered projects to canvas art. Some I will use a cotton so they can dye the color they choose. Some I'll be placing gems, jewels, seed beeds, etc for shabby chic. All will range from 3/4 to 11/2 inch diameter. That I think by tightening my stitches or reducing my hook size, I can accomplish that. You are an excellent teacher. What I need from you is to know which little flowers whip up fastest . I like this Puff Flower. As well, I think I could fit small buttons or gems in centers. I've watched one Irish flower video that was 3 layers. But she was speaking Russian, I think. I'd love to create a multi layer, simpler, quick version. Or somehow ruffle for the shabby chic ladies. I'll not get pay for this. I do it from my heart. Can you help? I am now a new Subbie. Thx for your help in advance. Andi
@bhookedcrochet9 жыл бұрын
Hi Andi! What you're doing is great, it's so rewarding to crochet for a good cause! These puff flowers would be great as well as my simple crochet flower as they work up very quick. You may also check out my Lovely Layers Flower tutorial. It is a favorite of mine that looks advanced but is actually quite easy to crochet. I have around 8 flower patterns, most with tutorials, that you may be interested in for this project. If you haven't already, you should check out www.bhookedcrochet.com/patterns and browse the "crochet flowers" sub category. Clicking on each image will take you to the free pattern and those with videos are embedded right there in the page. Let me know if I can be of any more help. I can be reached on my social network channels as well as the contact page on my website. I wish you the best of luck!

B.hooked Crochet For now though I may just make a few as random detached flowers. I've never made even a pin cushion. Do you have draw string bad patterns? I made a bag that I use but I accidentally invented my own stitch! It looks like dc but is in between hdc and dc, so, not good... :(
@bhookedcrochet10 жыл бұрын
Some of the coolest designs are accidents! I have a few myself :) I don't have a drawstring bag pattern but I do have a full tutorial on a granny square tote. You can find both tutorials on my KZbin channel under the "February crochet-along" heading. I'd recommend giving it a try. It was a lot of fun to make!
@RavenclawSeer10 жыл бұрын
B.hooked Crochet Good, since my bag is well, ragtag. It looks great but the stitches were not stitches! Between hdc and dc which apparently equals dc by sight. (I forgot the stitches). zit came out okay but it was not right. I am debating the shape. My bag was patchwork and made in a rectangular prism like most small messenger bags. It is filled with my little amigurumi now... I have it on my Deviantart profile if you want to see the pictures.

Thank you for this tutorial! I'm due in August with a baby girl and JUST last night decided I need to learn how to crochet so I can make her a blanket made out of these petals. (Am I crazy?) This tutorial is definitely going to come in handy, so thank you! I'm curious, do you know where I could go to learn how to stitch them together into a blanket? I know it's a pretty ambitious endeavor, but I'm generally pretty crafty and enjoy this kind of tedious work, so I'm hoping to make it happen. I just don't really know where to begin! Thanks so much.
@bhookedcrochet10 жыл бұрын
That's great, Hayley, congratulations! I don't think you are crazy at all! Ya know, I believe there is a patten for the blanket on Ravelry (the largest pattern source for crochet out there). I've been told there is a tutorial on how to put them together. If just do a general search on ravelry for a puff stitch flower blanket and see what comes up! Best of luck!

good afternoon, i've been watching most of the beginner video, most if not all are great...i'm a little confused the magic ring is that the same ring i would do to start the crochet for a hat... please advised if i have not confused you .... lol.. thanks
@bhookedcrochet10 жыл бұрын
There are a few different options when starting a hat, the magic ring being one of them. Generally the pattern will mention which starting method you use. If you are not following a pattern, the crocheter will start by using the method they are most comfortable with. Hope this answers your question properly!
@michalinak.705210 жыл бұрын
Great video, thank you. Which yarn and needle size did you use? The yarn type (Weight/Yardage/Gauge) would be very interesting, so I could translate this in the specification for german yarn.
@bhookedcrochet10 жыл бұрын
Hi Michalina! I used a size 5mm crochet hook and Caron Simply Soft (worsted weight acrylic) yarn in this demonstration. It is a very flexible pattern that can be used for many different types of yarn.

@mammac241110 жыл бұрын
I love making these! Do you know how many I will need to make a baby blanket?
@bhookedcrochet10 жыл бұрын
Quite a few! You'll probably have to calculate the number based on the size you want (I've not made one to give you an exact number). Measure the flowers you've made and divide that number by how wide you want it. Then repeat the same calculation for the length. Now multiply the two numbers and that should give you a rough idea!

The most important thing to remember when crocheting the petals is to make sure you are really pulling the yarn up for each part of the puff stitch. Keep practicing! :)
