@suebroomhead46282 жыл бұрын
This is such a great video and so easy to understand. Is there any way to make this heart bigger then square it off using the same technique?
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I'm so glad you found it helpful! 🥰 Hmm, my only idea for that would be to maybe use thicker yarns so the heart comes out bigger. Then you don't have to do as many rounds on the outside if you don't want to. Otherwise, I think it would be a different pattern for the square, which you might be able to find other videos online for! Hope this helps!! 💖
@suebroomhead46282 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the suggestions. I am making 4"granny squares in worsted weight. I wanted an 8" square with a bigger heart in the centre. The heart in this pattern was so cute but too small for that size of square. I tried using thicker yarn but it's just too thick compared to my smaller worsted weight ones. I thought of starting the Heart with 2 rounds of clusters, but that would change the pattern and I can't figure out how to do it.
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
@@suebroomhead4628 hmmm, I see what you mean... maybe try crocheting an extra round of just double crochet around the heart. Since the shape is already defined, it might still look good/hold its shape if you just add a round of double crochet after the 2nd round. Maybe worth a try!

When you finished row one of the heart outline, you said to do a single crochet last but you did hdc last and then slip stitched, should i do the same? Because I put a single crochet in the last one (where we slip stitched the new color onto the heart), but should i skip that and just slip stitch into it after the hdc like you did? I’m having a hard time and this is the second video I’ve watched and can’t get it down. Thanks
@savannahfletcher3 жыл бұрын
I think I see the sequence you are talking about... I would just do the slip stitch unless you have an extra stitch on the heart with enough space to do that last single crochet. Ultimately, one stitch won't make that much of a difference in granny squares, so I wouldn't worry about it too much

that's a good point, I should have left that part in! Thanks for posting this video, it would be really cool if you could post a beginner’s video where you don’t speed anything up and do the whole square together.

That's great feedback, thank you!! Maybe I will make one showing how to do a plain granny square and show everything for beginners first. Definitely easier to learn these types after you know basic granny squares

Hi how do you make the heart bigger?
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Someone else asked this question as well, and I suggested maybe they try using a thicker yarn and bigger crochet hook to make it a little bit bigger. You could also try to do a row of single crochet around the heart (as the third row). I'm not sure whether it will hold that shape very well, but it's worth a shot! Good luck!!! 💖

Hi what want to know can the heart made bigger please let us no I am waiting for answer thank you

Hi! I have not tried making the heart bigger myself, but maybe try doing an extra round of single crochet around the heart (after round 2)! You could also try using a bigger hook if that doesn't work! I hope this helps! 💖

what is the length and width of this granny square?
@savannahfletcher2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response! This square is about 5.5 × 5.5 inches based on the yarns I used and the hook size. You can always do more or less rounds though to modify the size!

My holes look so large :') Am I crocheting too loose?
@savannahfletcher3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, maybe... You can try crocheting a little tighter and perhaps using a smaller crochet hook. Granny squares are supposed to have some gaps though, so I'm sure you are doing great still! :))
