This is so helpful! Had a friend interested in my crochet beanies, but he wanted a Tam for his dreads. Thank you for breaking everything down and making it easy to follow along with!

Hi there, thank you for these great tutorials. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. I'm making a tam for my daughter's boyfriend and he has very long dreads, about down to his butt and he's a tall guy. I'm wondering how many rows I should do before starting the decrease..
@AtreyuCrochet2 жыл бұрын
You’ll have to eyeball it. Just keep in mind that the tam will stretch a bit to hold a lot of hair, so it doesn’t have to be extremely deep. You could always put some shirts inside the tam as you’re crocheting it to approximate how long you need to make it. Just a thought. Good luck 👌🏾

It would help if you said which row by number as I get behind and then if I knew what row I could adjust.. thank you🙏🏽❤️💛💚

Looking back at the video, from the placed stitch marker I created 5 rows (or technically, rounds), then 5 more rows of the next color. FYI, the stitch marker is placed on row 7, therefore the new color begins on row 12. I hope that helps!

Thanks for the tutorial however I have one challenge, don't know what measurements to take for that top round of the hat since am using thin yarn and a smaller hook
@AtreyuCrochet3 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. Can you just fit it to the top of the intended person’s head to gauge how large you need to make it?
@AtreyuCrochet3 жыл бұрын
It’s likely that you’re going to need to have more increase rounds before maintaining the number of stitches for the remaining rounds.

@@AtreyuCrochet hello, I finally finished it successfully with a little bit of difficulties, but I know it will will be easier with the next one😀 the only challenge I got was how to increase after those rows of not increasing since I wasn't having the same stitches as yours so what I did was to do away with that one row of increasing and just continued with till the desired size then gambled with decreasing but it came out nicely, wish I could send u the pic but don't know how
