Girl, I needed this because I was barking all morning, and I just sat down and started crying. I'm crying as I'm typing this. The lack of love I've been showing myself looking for it in others lately is disappointing. I feel like I've lost myself lately. Thank you for these words. I needed them. It's always up to me

This was especially difficult for me because I couldn’t even define love, let alone give it to myself. I looked to 1 Corinthians 13 4-8 and my life has changed. Now I treat myself how the Bible defines love to be. And I’ve never been more full.

That's real. We are taught on one hand that we are strong black women, we can make it on our own, trust in God & keep it moving. All of that is true but we are human & we were NOT made to work everything out alone so we need to be loved, held, talked to & cry with by other humans. I do agree that the work starts with self bc "no man is an island"

I’m so glad I came across this video. We are responsible for our OWN happiness. So many people place their happiness on other people and that is not fair and such a HUGE responsibility. We’re all human and we all go through things. No one has time to be responsible for your happiness.

Thanks for this video!! First tome here!! To all the ladies feeling/believing we need to be "fully healed" before getting into a relationship, we must know this isn't correct. We get opportunities to heal within relationships as they help us grow. How else can we see where we must work on if it isn't reflected in relationship with others? Let's be gentle with ourselves and appreciate where we are (while working towards growth) and know that we are worthy of love and acceptance within the bounds of partnership. Working together ❤

I just feel like you’re so self aware about your actions and how your behaviors can contribute to how you feel and your environment. I loveee that about this channel because it’s hard to come by people who are self aware about themselves. Honestly even I have to work on being more self aware myself and it’s harder than it seems, so I don’t blame anyone who has a hard time doing that. It’s a lot easier said than done, and takes baby steps and a lot of time to fully understand it all. But anyways this is so true, keep up the great work ❤

This was so helpful and so many truth bombs about the NECESSITY OF SELF LOVE! I especially had a lightbulb when you started talking about focusing on what WE need to solve and come to an understanding to within ourselves before we go to someone else, because if we address ourselves FIRST, 9 times out of ten we will not even need to take it to the person afterwards because we already solved the internal conflict within ourselves 🤯 then we make the necessary decisions accordingly 😌 our peace can only be from within (and every other feeling, good or bad.) Thank you Tiffany for all you are providing to us you are making a huge difference in the world.

I'm still working on this in marriage. It takes time to develop those skills to be happy independently when you have been sold a dream and now have expectations that the oneness of marriage means all of your love and joy is the responsibility of your mate. I would often let my husband's emotions or bad days consume me because as an empath I feel others' feelings so deeply. I am still learning to regulate myself. Thank you for sharing this!

Came back to this video after a few months and whew was it needed!! Thank you for calling me in. I feel like I am losing myself, allowing others to have power over how I feel about myself. Placing my happiness in what others say and do for me. I used to have such high confidence until a big emotional blow that has me questioning how I really feel about myself. I'm working to not get back to who I once was, but to allow adversities and trials and tribulations to inform how I love myself better and become confident with new and darker chapters to my story.

So lately, I've been feeling a bit lonely and I don't have many friends that ( I don't get many invitations for hangouts), so from time to time, I would ask my boyfriend to make plans and maybe just show some invitative to want to do things with me because I usually feel like I'm the who makes all the initiatives and plans. So this is something we've struggled for in your whole relationship, where I feel like my needs aren't met and he seems too overwhelmed to do anything. It gets to the point where when I try to make plans I feel resentful Anyway, when you asked "What was I wanting from this relationship or other people?" It's that feeling of acceptance, feeling loved and calued by someone, so much so that they want to put in the effort to plan hangouts with you. This is my love language and I crave it. I've tried giving this to myself and going on solo dates like to the farmers market where I interact with a few people and sometimes I end up feeling more alone and kinda miserable and lonely, wishing someone would invite me to this.

hey love. there’s so much more to this video that you didn’t address. yes, it’s important to love on yourself, but it’s also important to evaluate your relationships and determine if they’re meeting your needs. once we truly begin to love ourselves, we no longer tolerate relationships + connections that don’t meet our needs. I am not a relationship therapist, nor am I telling you to end your relationship, but if you feel like you’ve communicated your needs multiple times and there isn’t any attempt to make it happen, you have to determine if the pros outweigh the cons… if this is the relationship that you want to remain in. only you can determine that and make changes there. sending you a big hug 🫂 because these are not easy realizations.

You’ve really got a way with your words, and you’ve put all of the concepts in a way that was easily understandable, kept us accountable, but did not shame us for feeling certain ways-simply allowed us to reflect. This is the first time I’ve heard the term “interdependence” and I love how it acknowledges our need for connection but also emphasizes the importance of loving ourselves fully and understanding our needs first. This was a moment I had this morning. ladies if you keep expecting rejection and don't know why? Your trying to give yourself away to someone else . No one can take on another person living inside of them. Picture someone else inside of you. you have to deal with your things and now thier things. you can't take that on yourself so stop trying to give yourself away. Loving you is taking on you in all aspects and making sure your loved, happy and taken care of. You don't need to belong to anyone You already belong to the best person on this earth and that's. YOU. Cheers

This is what I needed. I’ve been expecting my woman to compliment me. To make me love myself more and when she doesn’t I feel very angry. I don’t love myself

don’t get me wrong, it’s human nature to want to be seen, complimented, loved on… but let’s make sure it not from an empty void we’re trying to fill. yes mam… learn to love you! and that might mean making some changes that you don’t like when you reflect. that’s okay! sending you a big hug at this part of your journey 🫂🤎

I was preaching this to my friend recently, who jumps from one relationship to next. After I've told her multiple times to take a break from dating and focus on her and her interests. While I was going on, she stops me and says "but it's so lonely". Like I had nothing to say to her bc it's true. Self-love and trying to fill the void really gets lonely. You keep remembering or wanting someone for the intimacy. Telling them how your day was etc.

I think we all have a duty of care and certain amount of responsibilty towards each other, and our happiness. We need to talk about our worries and concerns together if we ever have a chance of healing! we're all here together going through similar experiences, "No Man Is An Island, if we were meant to go through it all alone, then we'd be the only person on the planet, we're meant to heal together as God intended! Instead of being so separated and detached from eachother, it's just not natural, and not a very safe environment either for most of us, especially vulnerable people! I think it's become a very lonely, isolated, sad planet, and it's such a shame, what's life all about, if not connectedness! Afterall, there's strength in numbers!

@@HG-le5tj I totally agree… and it’s a good thing that this video is not about being alone, but instead about not relying on others to make you “happy” … finding time to pour into yourself so that you show up whole + healthy in your relationships…. even when there are things to heal within that relationship. Unhealthy attachment is a real. I say that multiple times in the video

Im so glad ive came across your videos little by little im realising in some situations i was the problem n because i used to rely on everyone to make me happy when it was gone i felt unloved 😮 and would become aggressive towards everyone even in relationships
