@@thejayaltoThank you so much for sharing it! I've been wanting something like this for ages! As someone with very atypical neurology, KZbin very much helps me focus (think music, white noise, or podcasts), and often can teach me a lot of things I need to know for my life/work/etc. The problem then becomes all the predictive algorithmic BS, which leads me to watch things I don't need to watch, and often don't even care about. I learned about Untrap, and actually got out of bed, turned on my PC, and made sure I installed and configured it right there before I forgot. I've you to thank for being freed, untrapped if you will, from the clutches of my own brain chemistry, yet in a way that allows me to retain access to this bottomless treasure trove of information we call KZbin. Cheers!

Thanks, Jay! Yes, I too have a love/hate relationship when it comes to KZbin. My addiction has been repetitive stat and comment-checking. Do you use all three of these blockers!? Which one is your favourite? I regained access to my sisters WiFi 3 months ago. Can only access it via my new office space, hallway and occasionally my bedroom and the kitchen but the reception isn't great there. I did recently stop notifications from coming through my phone but that doesn't stop me from still checking KZbin and Medium overly frequently. I have managed full detox day out of sheer will power and I felt great! Gotta get back into the habit of that. Keep saying I will but then my brain thinks "a quick check can't hurt" that check is never just a "quick check" though! All that said, I love KZbin and I endeavor to make a part time living out of it. Thankful that that's even a possibility, regardless how challenging it may be! Thanks for openly talking about your own KZbin addiction 🙂

Thanks for the inputs, tried everything but since you can just uninstall it or just delete and reinstall the browser the temptation is way too easy. My dream would be if the internet provider installed a tool on the router where you can set this schedule and if you can't actively change it again. THAT would be extreme, but I think it's the only real way if you can't force this inner will yourself.
@thejayalto2 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure you can block websites at a router level - but it'll mean you'll never access...
@Papierzeit2 ай бұрын
@@thejayalto Yes, not every router has this special function. Ours, for example, has a parental control function where certain MAC addresses, i.e. computers in the local network, cannot be given Internet access at certain times. That alone is enough for me personally because I do a lot of analog writing and don't need the Internet then.
