How to customize a cooler master NR200P Build AIO with Top Radiator / Top Hat - Inverted Mod

Today, I'm going to show you how to customize your NR200P to be able to top mount an all in one cooler.

@@StraightforwardTech Yeah I'd say for them it would be really easy just to modify the designs just slightly to accommodate this mod. Or generally giving the option of mounting the PSU and mobo a bit lower to allow for top mount of an AIO. I think that video from GaNexus was pretty clear that mounting the AIO on the bottom isn't recommended, vertical side mounting still not ideal, and front mount isn't an option in this case, either. And I'm still debating just sticking with air cooling but .. I just prefer the clean look of an AIO. So. If I stick with air cooling, I probably wouldn't use the glass side panel because it's not as visually interesting to me then anyhow.. :) *decisions decisions*

@@indy.strooooble Cooler Master had an AMA on r/sffpc where they had talked more about future nr200s or other variants but agreed they have a great product and I'm sure they looking to make a v2 of it. I think air coolers can look cool too dependent on how much 🌈 you want to show off or a mute build w/ white lights is nice too

This case is so fun to work with. Did an all air cooler build in the NR200(non P) and am in love with it. Tried a 6800 XT Taichi deshrouded in it with 2 x 120mm fans underneath and the temps were amazing. Decided to put the shroud back on and take the 120mm fans out so the GPU RGB could give an underglow to the case and it looks amazing. Running a C14s for the CPU and this thing is running whisper quiet. Also managed to install my ATX PSU in it too! Tight fit but works great! Seeing all the work you put into this is impressive to say the least, and really goes to show how versatile this case is with the right amount of dedication and work.

No chance of me building a new setup now anyhow with the crazy prices/unavailability of the GPU I had in mind...so I have some time... :D

I used a belt sander instead of a file sand down the area that needed to modified to fit.

If you do face the same problem at 5:55 and you really want that third screw, just widen the hole on the front panel the screw head is supposed to find into with a larger bit. It's an interior trim rail and no one will see it anyway.

I'm getting my case today and will be ready with a drill! Just a slight concern about the GPU being inverted, whether that would be a problem for the riser. Besides this, anything that you thought was a problem caused by flipping the case? Looks promising to me!

I didn't have any issues with flipping it upside down. The riser cable will sit on top actually so no need to worry about that.

Great Mod. Great video. I wonder CoolerMaster did not offer this as factory feature. Seems not difficult to rotate the front plate and the rest of the case supports the mod naturally.

Between the 3rd pcie slot on the bottom and the pcie riser do you think there is enough room for an additional 120mm rad with a slim fan? It would be mounted with a pcie slot adapter. This isn't what I want to do exactly but it'll answer the question I want I guess. Aside from thermals I'm trying to figure out how to fit a 120mm and 240mm aio to accommodate a 3090 hybrid lol without mounting a radiator below a pump. Thanks for the video! Very helpful

Hey man! Thanks for stopping by. I've think you could probably fit a 280 AIO in there but I heard those tubes are not as flexible so it's going to be a tight squeeze. I'd wait for the 200p MAX if you really want the 280mm top hat.

Big issue for me - to customize NR200P so I wanna see my RGB screen on AIO pump (Kraken Z-series) through the glass. I bought Kraken Z cause I love it for RGB screen with ability to show animated gifs. Next wanna more small case... NR200P is good.... but what for glass side?... if I won't see AIO's RGB screen.... So Im thinkig yet about buying NR200P May be you have any idea is it possible? May be AIO radiator get down... and screw the fans from case bottom outside?

You can bottom mount the AIO but its a problem for the pump as all air will be collecting in the block/pump. A 240mm can easily fit at the bottom but just an pump longevity issue and noise.

@@eriknesh4085 It wont fit perfectly due to the frame being a bit bent and that does not fit properly when you turn it around. Meaning it will have a slight tilt outwards that will make it look bent out. But its not super noticeable. I will get a picture of it tomorrow.

I think it’s reasonable to mount it horizontally. Assuming the case is modded for psu and a custom backpanel

Yeah unfortunately it can only sit vertically but you can always go back and place it into the stock configuration.

I originally made this tutorial because Gamers Nexus had a video saying bottom mounted AIOs are not good for the pump. This gives an option to top mount AIOs in this popular case.

@@StraightforwardTech it's true I remember this video. Perhaps it would not be easier to try to adapt the AIO at the top? I have this NR200 and I easily adapted an 850w ATX. However, do you have the option of mounting it on the side above the pump or not? Good job anyway.

@@Rodrigo8 Yes, it is possible to side mount but the pump will be parallel to the tubes but for "best" orientated configuration, it would still be top-mounted. I love the NR200 case since it allows ATX users to port items such as your PSU to get into sffpc. Thanks for checking out the video! 😀
