The adjustment screw snapped in my Ping G25 driver snapped. Local golf shop said Id have to buy a new shaft as Ping wouldnt replace the sleeve. £80 - I dont think so. Instead I went to my local hardware shop and bought an identically sized screw. £1. Job done.

I’ve used like Asda 1L bottle of cheap coke to clean my clubs for like 10mins to let the acid get into the grooves and use the toothbrush to clean them. Works a treat! I also have used a Brillo pad for the grips with warm soapy water and makes the grips like brand new again!

I've used all of those tips. I've also used mineral spirits to get off sticker glue and generally remove dirt and scratches. I've went so far as to use a quick spray of spray paint on really bad sky marks. I like using something like dial dish soap and a little wire brush on grips to bring them back to life. You allowed me to make a great deal of sales this year. I'm hoping the season holds out for a few more months. I've seen a pretty dramatic slow down recently. Thanks again!!!

Add a bit of dish washing liquid when cleaning the grip. It pulls oil out left behind by sweaty hands, I use that and use a scotch brite pad. Nice and sticky.

Lighter fluid - like Ronsonol or Zippo Fluid - will also work to dissolve sticker residue. Gotta work fast though cuz the fluid evaporates pretty quickly.

Question about value of a club - Say an older club (like titleist 904f) is listed for $40 on Ebay but shipping is also $40. As the club is hard to find is that club worth $40 or $80 because of the shipping? Does that make sense? I see people list clubs at eBay pricing but shipping included. So it’s $200 on Ebay with shipping or $240 on Market place. Just curious about value to hone my negotiation skills 😆

glue can also be removed with paint thinner, acetone or nail polish remover. Essentially all more or less the same product. Just dont use it on plastic or painted surfaces. On stainless steel it should be fine.

I NEVER remove the screw from the clubhead anymore. The rubber washer on the inside is there to keep the screw attached to the clubhead so you don't lose it when changing shafts. 9 times out of 10 it will remain in the clubhead and you need to provide a new one to restore the value of the club. This is VERY DIFFICULT to do. I use a wooden CORN DOG SKEWER inserted through the BOTTOM of the club and sticking out the HOSEL opening. The RUBBER WASHER goes on the tip of the SKEWER and is then gently lowered into the club til it rests on the bottom of the HOSEL with the SKEWER still in it. Insert the shaft in the hosel so the SKEWER TIP just enters the threaded screw hole in the adaptor and the shaft adapter is firmly holding the washer against the HOSEL bottom. Pull the SKEWER out the bottom and insert the screw into the shaft adaptor. The washer will now be back on the screw as before. Better to leave the WASHER on the SCREW while cleaning the club in the first place.
