Shouldn't cost thousands in equipment. You can probably borrow or rent a chainsaw. You can use tow straps instead of buying rigging rope. I've never seen felling tongs with a telescopic handle used before and don't see where to buy them, but if you can throw the strap over a branch, that may suffice.

I saw a video from Sweden (?) where lumberjacks were shown how to remove a tree that is hung-up on another tree. A large sheet of plywood was placed under the hung-up tree, near the bottom of the hung-up tree. The instructor then cut off a small piece (about 1 meter long) of the bottom end of the hung-up tree so that the lower end of the hung-up tree fell onto the sheet of plywood. He wrapped a cable around the lower end of the hung-up tree and then used a "come-along" winch to pull the lower end of the hung-up tree away from the tree in which it was hung up. (The bottom end of the hung-up tree slid on the sheet of plywood.) Then he cut another piece of the bottom end of the hung-up tree and again the lower end of the hung-up tree fell onto the sheet of plywood. He repeated this process of cutting and pulling until the hung-up tree was free and fell to the ground.

I like how you use leverage to get the job done. I would have put a wedge in the back cut. He cut bark of the sides of the face cut to get the best view of his back cut , coming to the holding wood. Also as the tree rots on the inside, insects find a home and the birds find the insects.
