Stacey, thank you so very much for your time in preparation and demonstration. Everything that you share is helpful, including about when our rotary blades need replacing. It is always a consternation for me because of the expense of the blades -- wondering if I am changing them too soon, or not often enough. I am looking forward to these next weeks of quilt prepping and making. Have been looking forward to today. Thank you!😊 It is about 11:15 a.m. MST

Do you have any tips or advice for cutting fabric with rotary cutter for left-handlers?
@staceyleecreative3 жыл бұрын
I have been thinking about it, and I guess you just do everything on the opposite side of what I am showing you. But you need to make sure your rotary blade is on the right hand side, so when you are holding it on the left, it is right up against the ruler. I know my rotary cutter can have the blade on either side.

with the salvage on top, my side of material has not been cut straight. do i just cut that first?
@staceyleecreative3 жыл бұрын
Hi Annamarie, it's quite normal for your fabric not to be cut straight, so always start with your fold line towards you and start by cutting a new straight line.

What is the size of your mat?

Hi Latoya, it's the largest Olfa mat 36" x 24". You can get a great deal on them when Joann have their 60% coupon 😊

No matter hat I do I can’t seem to get a straight line.
@staceyleecreative2 жыл бұрын
Oh no Linda. Do you know at what point it goes wrong for you? If it's the ruler moving you can put weights on it. There are also Stripology rules that people swear by to help, they are expensive though.

At least half of these fat quarters measure just over 17 inches. There is no way to get four 9 inch squares out of them. So, do I cut my squares 8 1/2 inches or go buy more fat quarters?
@sshirleyks2 жыл бұрын
I found a really cute solution! I sewed contrasting fabric, the off cuts from the 9 inch blocks, onto the side and then cut The Who,e thing back to 9 inches.
@staceyleecreative2 жыл бұрын
Yes the easiest thing to do is to cut them all down to the smallest size.
