A very clever way to cut a bolt, however, that was not a "bolt cutter", that was a wire cutter designed to cut soft copper wire, not steel.

Correct, a wire cutter is the correct expression for it, but I only used it to cut these small bolts, I use just plain old wire pliers 😊 thank you for your pointers 👍👍👍

Actually the holes that he used the second time is designed to cut small threaded bolts, only the size they are labeled for. The idea is if you have to shorten a bolt for a switch/plug to sit flush in abnormal situations

Hence the wire cutters (for switch/plug bolts), but I find it useful for everything that can fit in these holes 😊

The wire stripper/crimping tool that was used to cut the M3 screw is either a piece of junk or was damaged prior to the demonstration. Decent tools of this type have a threaded hole on one handle and a clearance hole on the other. The screw must be screwed into the threaded hole from the outside so that the end that will be discarded is in the clearance hole. After the screw is sheared, unscrewing the screw dresses the damaged end. These tools are intended for cutting brass screws, not steel.

I mean it's definitely a machine screw cutter. It's halfway there

It got the job done 😊😊😊

I expected more from you. 1-2 minutes for the hand tool? You must be done in like 30s max with that size. The proposed method with the drill will just damage your blades very fast. You didn't even mention the angle grider - the univesral tool for self injuring any inexperienced dyi-er. And most notably: You didn't tell anything about recovering the thread. Please put in some effort next time. You can do better!

Thank you for your input. I got one very dull hand saw so I needed 1,5 min with my saw 😞 I will put more effort next time, thx for the reality check 👍 keep it honest 🙏

Or buy right bolt sizes😂

Yup, that would be first first solution 😁😁

If you're going to the hardware store every time you need a bolt of a particular size you're probably not the type of person who is building a lot of things.
