Yes with y8 head you will need the y8 fuel rail and fuel injectors, my last ek I did a y8 intake swap on my y7 but I had to use the y7 injectors and rail cuz if I used the y8 it would run rich
@Constantuned3 жыл бұрын
I'm running hondata so I can change injector sizes. I ran the y7 injectors which worked but my duty cycle got up to 91 percent which was a little to close for comfort so I switched to some z6 injectors which dropped my duty down to about 60. Just started my turbo build and now I'm running 1150cc injectors

Can you use the same y8 harness and y8 ecu with the y7block/y8 vetch head? Plug n play or would it need some modification still besides the extended coolant hose.
@Constantuned3 жыл бұрын
Most connections are on the head so it would be plug n play you would just need to install a knock sensor in the block which is already threaded for it.

@ronyhyper Жыл бұрын
question, what timing belt you used and head gasket?
@Constantuned Жыл бұрын
Y7/y8 timing belt are the same. This particular setup was a 2 layer OEM Y8 gasket. Bumps the compression a little bit over a fel pro or aftermarket headgasket. Its considerably thinner than most. Any y8 head gasket will work though. the y7 and y8 blocks are the same. Y8 just has a spot for the knock sensor. Dont think the y7s do.

With the iacv wiring are you sure that was the right way to wire it? All the forums Ive went thru say that the orange wire was useless and to connect yellow/black wire to the green wire and the blue/black wire to the black wire.

I used that wire for my vtec.

If I had a auto y7, and got a y8 ecu and harness would the idle air control valve work with a manual intake manifold or auto? Sorry if the question is confusing

Yeah y8 and y7 blocks are the same minus the provision for the knock sensor and the pistons are slightly different but only will change your compression slightly.

The compression ratio with this setup is 9.96:1 compared to a stock y8 which would be 9.76:1. So in theory this would make more than a y8. But its a slight difference.

The reason there’s coolant lines on the iacv is because the iacv reads coolant temps and tells your car how high to idle
@Constantuned2 жыл бұрын
No that is not true. the iacv duty is controlled by the ecu. It uses coolant and iat sensor. the iacv only has two wires to control duty.
