taking the d16y8 head off due to a blown headgasket, this is my method hope it helps speed the process up by taking off the least amount of stuff you can.

I have a 99 Honda civic ex and the heads were redon a month ago form the guy I purchased the car off and my friend put the petal to the medal after and there was a big white puff of smoke, the next morning my oil was white n creamy so am pretty sure it’s a head gasket my local mechanic is doing the job for me how much should I really pay for this job?

Depends but most shops charge min $60hr and book hours this could be 4 hours or so plus machining and parts. If timing belt is replaced etc id expect a shop to be easily in the $300 dollar range. Can it be done cheaper? Absolutely.

@@Chessermotorsports No problem. I do have a question, around 24:22 when you're fishing for that bottom middle nut to take off the rear manifold, what did you use/how did you tackle that? I have a non-Vtec LX and can't seem to get to it no matter what I do. Trying to avoid taking everything off, but I may have to. Thanks

You may be able to use a long extension from behind the manifold. If not possible a wrench down between the runners and turn it a little at a time.
