As an African American who recently found out more about my heritage(my family was from Ghana and Cameroon) I love seeing these videos and embracing more of my culture. I have absolutely fallen in love with Afro Pop and African dances over the last few years. I feel like black Americans are at such a disadvantage by having our heritage stripped away and not knowing where we came from or a thing about our heritage until we start doing research.

I'm Trinidadian and know how to breakdance, do ballet, ballroom, Latin, and now I'm learning this. And this is soooooooo unstructed it's amazing. So free, lax, and the most of all - fun. It's not about getting anything right, and getting upset at yourself that you can't get it right. It's about feeling the music and being true to the African culture and heritage. This is by far my most fun kind of dance style I've ever learned!
@marissalorraine87006 жыл бұрын
One thing I love about all dancers is that we know dance brings people together. It is something felt in the heart and soul and crosses all boundaries. No language, no culture, no color - people who love dance passionately love others who love it too. Thanks for the video! I really wanted to learn about Azonto 😊❤️

Shaqaya Bambury we Africans take the soul of dance and recreate it. I been to clubs in usa, uk and Australia, and when I got on the dance floor everyone thought I was a famous musician and they all take my video. Where am at at the moment we have American soldiers and they think am from usa because of how I Dance. And can Dance to anything from any continent including Chinese lol 😀 with any muscle on my body. But I am just a village girl who used to compete on the streets with boys from the city they didn't take me serious at first and I swore since I was little no one on earth will ever Dance better than me. Every time someone dismissed me I performed better. Now I can make up moves from other people's moves. In Africa especially in the ghettos and slums are very talented children the world is going to be shocked when we come out. GOD BLESS AFRICA .PROSPERITY LOVE, GOOD HEALTH AND PEACE TO ALL OUR PEOPLE.

Title of video is "How to dance Azonto, Shoki & Commercial African Dances (BM - Ebebi Music)" Keyword here is commerical African. Nowhere did it say Nigerian/ Ghanaian dance styles only. Yes most of mainstream African dances are pretty much Ndombolo and Makossa, but most of the moves during the freestyle were a mix of Pantsula from South Africa and Kuduro from Angola. Just chill out and celebrate that African dance styles are being put on the map period!
