Thank u for this video.. I used to be a bit overweight b4 I started dancing, and I got easily tired.. I looked so fat when I couldn't jump anymore, and would always be mad at myself when I rewatched the videos of my performances.. I'm taking a break from dance, but I still do just dance a lot to keep myself in the groove

I think it would be interesting to see kind of how you go about planning your classes that you teach. How you structure them, what your aims/goals are, etc.

I do oly weightlifting and I find this so helpful!!! I find oly lifting has a lot in common with performing arts and I actually employ some of these techniques! When Im tired I start getting tension in my traps and then I get impatient, lose awareness of what’s going on in the bottom and try to pull the bar with my traps instead of waiting for full hip extension. Being aware of the tension and putting it into your back, or core or glutes is a great tip!

Oh my god thank you so much! I just started attending intermediate ballet classes in my ballet school and my academic school has a better dance program coming up this year. (eg visiting other dance schools, recitals, etc.) And the problem is that my intermediate classes outside school starts at 5:00pm and ends at 6:30. And my level's ballet class is on 3:45pm to 4:45pm. I wanna join the ballet classes at my academic school because i wanna show my talents to my friends and i wanna do theur makeup if we ever have a recital (lol) i'm only 11 but my classmate told me that another classmate of mine who is the best dancer in our class (at school) that she dances 4 hours everyday (except wednesday) which to think about it, makes me relieved that im not the one who dances for a longer time. Phewww. and I'm really stressed about the fact that i might get tired especially because i go to school, i get ashtma/short breath after excessive activies. Wish me luck!!!

Kirsten, I love your channel! You helped inspire me to make my channel and mention my faith in God, thank you for being bold! And this video was definitely on time for me. However, you stress using your plié, but many times I feel like if I plié too much when I’m exhausted my legs are straight up gonna give out on me. I know I’m probably making myself more exhausted when I don’t plié enough as a result.... Any advice?

As fatigue is the theme today: is it true that you improve the most when you're very tired?

Lise C. I don't know about improving. I think the act of getting fatigued is the improvement and then when your muscles recover there's growth. If anything you're more likely to get injured when you're very tired.

ok thanks for your answer! I think I heard this from a teacher of the Paris Opera (in a video not in real life ofc!!), that it's when you're tired that you improve, but it's also true that you're more likely to get injured so I don't know....

Lise C. I think it's a correlation. It makes sense if you consider what we now know about muscle growth and recovery. Doing the work to fatigue is what makes you improve
