Ndoda. That zigzag thing you do over the speed hump, is stupid, because 1. You don't have a dropped suspension 2. The front lip doesn't even touch the speed hump 3. The speed hump is NOT that steep at ALL 4. You're the only one in your car, so ayibhashile. So wenza'ni? You're not an amateur driver, but doing things like these let's me know your experience is amateur. The zigzag is for cars with low suspension, or heavily weighed down. This is common mistake made by those who follow the crowd without thinking, without any applied mathematics on these roads. Mostly people with new German cars who don't even know WHAT the ZIGZAG IS USED FOR. Even when your car is fully loaded with 5 passengers, your suspension will not drop. So just drive over the hump straight on. I'm venting, I know. But I've found too many idiots on the road wasting our time, creating unnecessary traffic doing zigzags, but when you look at the car... it's one person in there. Take no offense, but this is just a serious Pet peeve of mine. A gripe i have with the society of idiots. Video was informative though... but I hate the uneducated zigzag

The 1 biggest lesson I have learnt from this Polo gti case even if your a petrol head, you must not be quick to modify your car the day after you have collected it and down pipe, custom exhaust, stage 2, pops and bangs...even if you have told the insurance company that your going to modify your car because in a case like this getting a faulty car. VW SA would definitely bring you down for modify your car and blame everything on you and refuse to replace your car even if they have tried to fix the problem

Hold on, My brother Just got his LLB. I'll forward the video see what he can add to help in situations like this. Car dealers in South Africa have a reputation of being dishonest due to them being rated on sales and how many units sold. That's why Month end you'll find new cars marked down for the pure reason for sales people to pump numbers up. It's a cold harsh truth to many aspects in our lives. The seller isn't someone who wants good relations, but rather just higher figures on an a spreadsheet somewhere. For bonuses and to look valuable to the company. I know someone who worked at VW hatfield. The "BEST BRANCH IN SOUTH AFRICA". He grew tired of the coldness of how people are treated. So he left saying its immoral what happens behind the scenes. Sales people don't even follow up on whether you are enjoying your car or not. Back in the days. like 90's My Dad bought a new car. The sales person kept close contact with him. Made sure he felt there was a relationship, because like you said. A car is a very valuable asset. Those lucky enough to have one know how if something breaks or if the car isn't reliable. Your world is rocked. How do you commute to work, learning new bus routes and taxi routes also doesn't put you in the place you need to be to. So I 100% agree. The dealers and sales people are cold and not interested in relations to their customers. It's all about hitting a target number. That is the part that needs change. VW is big here in SA. They shouldn't just be selling cars. They should be taking care of the people who are joining the family in that purchase

Great info Muzi (You will be the next Wendy Knowler with added tech insight). Just one more for your subscribers. There are basically two ways cars are built today that all must take note of Cars today are built around planned obsolescence VS those built to last. Cars build around planned obsolescence, they are built to fail with time (i.e. The parts failure is planned), e.g. A mini water pump will fail every around 100km. Cars that are built to last, usually have less breaking, and have no certain failure pattern but could just be normal wear & tear or and often abused (Intend or not), e.g. Corolla will last forever, but some fail soon due to unintended abuse of using non-Toyota oil and people believing these over-the-counter engineers telling you to by Castrol and all those many expensive and unnecessary engine oil. Failure to factor this, you ill end up with an endless money PIT & since car prices are now almost surpassing house prices, one purchase mistake will set you back for years financially. Great & informative vid, Muzi & wish all Mzansi young people to follow their passion as you do

Thanks bafo for looking out for us, I had an incident with Williams Hunt Edenvale oil leak on Opel 2020 model with only 14km on the clock. According to ombudsman I was not supposed to ask them to try fix the car as that was a practice of one of my right (repair, replace, refund). Once u practice any one of these, then it becomes a problem to execute any other on the options left. I took matters in my own hands as I didn't want to end up with a problem for 6 years and agreed to pay a penalty of about 10k to reverse the deal. It was painful but now I'm free from stress and depression. As u said justice system in this country is useless for ordinary people. Thanks again for ur videos we learn a lot from them.

Thanks for a lovely video, just to add... MIOSA is funded by levies from the motor industry that its meant to regulate. And as someone that has gone this route before after exhausting BMW SA's internal complaints resolution processes as well as Wesbank's...I lastly had to deal with the NCC which was the final nail in the coffin and I ended up having to concede to BMW SA and Wesbank (who were practically singing from the same hymn book), took a loss and "sold" the defective product to them, took a loan to finance the shortfall and vowed never to put myself into a contractual obligation with these business giants ever again! Headache!

Yes, but it depends on where you buy the car because some dealerships are not regulated by the MIOSA...Also some used cars are sold under the voetstoots clause meaning that you accept the car with it's defects, known and unknown. In this case you can’t enforce section 56(2) of the CPA.

Sure Bro I jus followed you few weeks back. I am currently in the same problem, I bought a faulty vehicle this year mid March. they have been repairing it but its not getting any better. I tried to cancel the contract and MIOSA gave them a chance to repair it and it came back with issues again. The bank said they cannot cancel the contract unless the MIOSA rule so. I demanded exchange (replacement) or refund and they are refusing. I am still waiting for the decision from MIOSA for the second time. I am worried that 6 months is going to runout and Section 56 will not protect me. Please is there anyway I can use or try?. I am not affording a lawyer and my only hope if MIOSA does not favor on my side is to go to N.C.C...

It would be more feasible to do a full check of the car on the day of handover from the dealership whilst it is on the showroom floor before signing any forms. If something is not in order don't sign or take the car. Tell them to give you another car or sort out the problem and when it is resolved only then will you take the car and sign for it after confirming it yourself. Can even ask your financing bank to hold payment as the goods or assets for their financing is defective. In this case if the infotainment system and DCC was not working these are quite apparent and can be checked in the showroom. The brake fluid warning light could have been seen as well. Personally I would not take a car with any fault in the showroom as this can be a sign of an underlying problem that may be difficult to sort out... as in your case.
