Bad grades might make you feel like a failure, but you're not one. I promise! Here are my thoughts and advice on dealing with bad grades as someone who has had bad grades and who has graduated from school.

I really relate to how you say you used to feel about good grades being part of your identity - I definitely used to feel that way too until I went into a new program and got a D on my first exam LOL. In a way I think it's good to fail/not meet your standards; after the initial crushing disappointment I realized that yeah I was still okay and that my best attributes could be things other than my grades. I've never heard anyone else articulate this so I'm happy I watched this video, I thought I was the only one XD Happy to see you upload again!! thanks for sticking to making this wholesome content, it really does help people. :)

I literally failed a practice test and I’m freaking out, wondering if I should even be in an AP math class. I worked my butt off, and my parents are supportive of bad grades, and here I am going to your videos for comfort. My situation isn’t even bad, and I’m a great student. I hate myself for overreacting to crappy grades. It’s so easy to compare myself to other kids who got 100s and 90s. My worst fear is not passing my current math class.

I know what you mean - I was the exact same way. My "bad grades" weren't honestly bad, but they weren't perfect and that would make me so upset. I hope you found some comfort in this video, and know that once you're out of school, you never, ever think about your old grades again!

Hey I’m 12 u kinda helped me from stop crying for my bad grades I’m failed at 3 subjects math and Arabia and Science but I konw those are not my fav subjects but I konw win to work hard on things u did help me a lot one day u will see me in high school thank you u did what u needed to do 😌I’m happy now for who am I dont change be a good person 😉👋🏼👍🏻❤️

it's ok so did i. I am also worried but remember that it won't last forever and that they will still love you. just take the yelling as an encouragement to do better. remember that it's not too late to do better! we all go through this at some point and its not permanent like my favorite quote goes " Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. / Just keep going. No feeling is final."

It's been over a month since I last posted my comment and in there I talked about my bad grades.I used my bad grades as inspiration to try harder and I was able to go from a F to a C. If I can do it, You can!

I made 6/14 at math class :(( I’m not scared about it, I’m just scared about people. I’m scared that they would laugh at me... Today was the first time in my life I got below an A, but Istg I tried so hard to calm myself down after getting an E in English. I took the test 2 months ago and my life was so messy that month I couldn't focus on anything, when I should've been studying or paying attention in class, I was laying in bed or scribbling on anything I could find. This video really helped and hopefully I can sleep tonight. :)

Its so embrassimg when teachers says your grade out loud and like thats the worse thing about getting a bad grade for me. Im embarrassed af. Like everyone stares like me like im a failure.

I’m prepping myself right now to receive my first B. Though im a sophomore in high school and I too am taking chemistry. I held a low A for most of the semester but now that it’s finals I think my grade will drop down to a B due to the weight of the class. I relate to this and the other video a lot so thank you!

I am a 1/2 (A, B) student (out of 6 grades) and recetly got 2x a 3 (one was almost a 2) and a 2 (which was almost a 3) and I supressed it, my mom told me she did not care about my Grades before, but when I told her i got these threes she went like this: 😯 I was seeking reassurence, that it was not so bad, and she told me, she reacted that way because I always got ones and 2 (rarely threes this year) and it hurt, but thank you so much ❤

Thank you for this. I just had a math test today and I know I did bad on it (86% at the max, probably gonna end up being 80%) and this will drop my average down a LOT. I'm trying to get into RMC the toughest university to get into in Canada, and I need to have 90s to have a higher chance of getting in. And I feel that when my parents see an 80 in math for me, they will just be slightly disappointed. And I know they are still proud of me, it just feels like there is less pride. But I have so many other opportunities in life (I want to be a pilot) but even if I don't make it to my goal of going to RMC and being a pilot. I know that I will surely make it into another university and still possibly become a pilot. Or I don't become a pilot at all. Maybe I just become an technician in the military, even that I would love, I just love aviation in general. **Sigh** I don't know, I just wish schools would change in a way that doesn't make you feel like a idiot and you're going to fail everything because of one (or multiple) bad grade(s).

Here is the problem. Your parents. And I live in a county where grades in school are really important. We have these ''levels''. The levels are basically so you aren't bored or can keep up. Once you end your primary school, you should have done an end test. That end test determines your level for the next school. You can go a level lower, stay, or go higher. If you apply for a job, they often require that you finished high school at a X lever. If you want to be a doctor, you have to finish high school at ''VWO''. There are 3 main/the most important subjects in high school. Math, English, and Dutch. Fail ANY of those, it's really really hard to go up a level in high school. Well, say bye to the well-paying jobs. And if you got to tell your parents that you had a bad grade on any of those three, especially math, you're more than dead. The education system in the Netherlands is just too stressful. You really can't get your guard down. And good luck having a French and a Math test on the same day. I really hate learning 100+ French words with their grammar and the exceptions to the grammar rules. You need to make a choice, get a bad grade for French or Math.

Sooo...I was the best student in the whole class...every teacher loved me and I loved them as well. In our country and in my school, you don’t get grades until 5th class. So now I’m in in fifth class, I have different teachers and they hate me. I start getting bad grades...and even if I answer a question right, my teachers will always find a reason to yell at me. When my classmates make a mistake, our teacher is like: “it’s ok darling” but when I makes a mistake, it’s a tragedy. So yeah...now I’m sitting here and crying bc of a frickin bad grade (sorry if my English is bad tho- it’s not my first language) thank you for this video, I feel a lot better
