Hey Kristen! Absolutely love your content. Was wondering if you could do a video or talk a bit about dealing with peoples judgment of you relationship? I’m 17 seeing a guy who’s recently 19 and he’s quite shy and nerdy and awkward and I keep getting comments from friends and family like “you could do so much better” or “hes so awkward compared to her” all these little comments that just don’t make me feel supported in the relationship. Thank you!!!

Hi kristin! Thanks for making the video. I like the tip about being able to be on the same team as opposed to being on opposite sides. Another thing I would I would like to add is that it's very important not to judge ea other because it's been my experience that when I feel judged I immediately shut down and can't express myself anymore. It's also been my experience that whenever I want to express something that I want my partner to work on before I say anything I get really stressed and anxious because in my mind I'm already anticipating getting judged so I don't end up saying what I want then I feel resentful with myself. Can you tell me how can I overcome already feeling judged in my mind and how can I explain this to my partner?

Thank you for adding that comment. That is very true to not judge each other. I think it's about asking your partner to not say certain things or maybe ask your partner to respond in certain ways that shows he is accepting what you have to say versus being combative. For example, if he were to say, "I hear where you're coming from" even if he doesn't agree, it's very validating to hear that. so maybe some communication rules can be put in place to help you feel more confident that he will receive the suggestions in a positive light.

Your videos are very helpful thanks for making them .. i have issues with my husband being too close to his mom emotionally attached still at age of 43, and it is creating lot of tensions in our marriage.. we are married for two and half years .. it is causing me a lot of heart ache .. he does not listen or acknowledge the problem.. does not want to see a therapist with me .. can you make videos on how to handle this situation..

I'm married to my wife now for 14yrs. I have a 19 yrs old that is very unhealthy and I've allowed him to get in between us his entire life. I've completely been doing this wrong the entire time. Just starting to see it all do clear. This is terrifying. I don't want to lose either. I must fix it and why I'm here.
