I have been in a similar situation. When I was in the sixth grade, there was a group of girls who always wanted to take my manga drawings and homework. If I refused to give them the drawings, they would tell others that I didn't give them their birthday gifts. It was really irritating. Finally, I told my mother, and she got involved. There was a girl in my class that look nice for a second. but while she was my friend, she wants me to lend her my things,she wants me to write her home work, I can teach her but it doesn't work,and she always wants me to follow her rules like Im her mate,I need to go to the toilet with her,buy her some food,eat with her in class even though we can't,I need to clean her trash like every time,and sometimes when I need her help she refuses nicely. but I know something was wrong,last week she told me to switch places with another girl. firstly I tought she was just a normal girl,but then I remembered she was the popular girl at school. boys like her because she's pretty,smart and sweet,well I found she was not to sweet. demanding as if. in that time,I just obey her rules and switched places. I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea. but I was wrong. I couldn't believe all this time that girl sit at the back seat near the corner while there was trash under the table,the place was hot and there was some dirty water under the table too . it took me time to clean it but the ugly drawing on the table I couldn't. I started to cry when I went home and search the internet when suddenly I saw your channel and found this video. I followed your tips and I started talking to a girl named saheera. she was just like me,she likes to draw,she likes anime and she likes animals. even though my seat is far from hers when ever theres an activitie at my school I'll always be with her, and sometimes if I don't understand something she'll teach me. she's a good friend too and we started to be bff. when your friend's internal growth doesn't match yours, it becomes annoying and creates distance. I have a long time friend of 10+ years which I've considered my bestfriend for a long time and he has issues of envy and it annoys me. I've seen his bad qualities before but i just shrugged it off until early this year that I've had enough. He's just a friend to me now. I've decided to be alone rather than be fake. Thank you so, so very much for this video. You are an excellent role model. I was dealing a lot with these fake friends. I got bullied in primary school by the students and even by the teachers, because they disliked my parents. (My parents are from a different country) I passed on a different middle school. They were full of kids I didn't know. These kids quickly started to pick on me. They later explained the situation. Apparently, they bully every new student who transfers there. I didn't get this "culture" at all, but I tried to deal with it. Eventually, the teachers started admiring my adeptness. I was very proud of my success and I decided to help the students to pass tests and stuff. I asked two girls who seemed to have a problem with English, German etc. (English is not my native language) if they needed help. I helped them at the weekends and we had a sleepover. I was so happy that they accepted me as a "friend". But then, they started talking about my passion, Cartoons, such as Gravity Falls, Over The Garden Wall and Death Note. (Which is an anime, but it can be described as a Japanese Cartoon) I said that they kept me joyful and inspired. I deeply love these. I also mentioned that I love Literature, Poetry and Art Anatomy. They started saying some really bad things about that and I felt hurt deep inside, but I didn't tell them that I got inwardly disintegrated very badly. Those are my passions, after all. And so, I helped more and more students and I didn't feel well about my decisions, so I quit doing that. But I also didn't feel too well about THAT decision, because they got better grades at their tests because of me. The students told me that I wasn't my usual self and they wondered why I quit helping them so abruptly. It was all my fault. I wanted to gain new friends and I tried to do that by helping them so I could "belong" to their "group" more. After I quit helping them, they abandoned me. I tried to make myself more interesting by "joining" them. I wanted them to notice me. I did that by helping them with their grades, but I unfortunately got nothing in return. I then realized they were just fake friends and I was the fault, because I started all this. But what else should I have done? I recently quit middle school and I transfer to high school very soon. You helped me by giving us tips how to deal with fake friends. I am going to keep that in mind when I pass on to high school. I feel much better about the fact that there are more kids who would know how I feel. And there are kids who are in an even worse situation than me. I can't thank enough for this great video. :)

I think you're the coolest. And I have a fake friend too. She always puts me down and always talks about herself. I want to stop being friends but one of my true friends is friends with her... And they're best friends too... I'm thinking of not even having a birthday party because if I invite my real friend, then I'm socially obliged to invite my fake friend. +Jane Ahn Hmm... maybe it will help a bit if you try understanding the reason why she's behaving the way she is? I'm honestly not a friendship expert, but perhaps if you try tolerating her, it will be easier to deal with her in social situations where you have no choice but to talk to her. If she's truly a mean person and if your friends also agree with you, then I don't really see the reason why you have to stay buddy buddy with her, when you secretly despise her. Nothing good will come out of a fake and forced friendship. Perhaps you can try expanding your social circle? Find new activities to do like organisations, clubs, and courses. You'll find many new friends that way and you won't have to always be together with that person you're not comfortable being with ヽ(=^･ω･^=)丿 This is just what I think, though. I'm not sure if it will help you, but I wish you the best of luck!

Thankfully, I don't have many fake friends. I had a friend in first grade and she was so sweet. We were on the field at school, and people were playing soccer. Somebody kicked the ball high up and it was going to hit my face/head when I was talking. My friend quickly pushed me to the side and she, well I would say she saved my life. I have a bunch of girls at school who try to mooch off of me because I'm nice and respect others and it's honestly peeving me off. At the moment I'm trying I branch off and make new friends with other people. Like you I am a nerd. A few years ago I was friends with the pops, and they made me do things I wasn't comfortable with often. After awhile they asked me if I wanted to be (even though I thought we already were,and they had said we were) their friend and be popular, or be friends with the weird guys. I told them I'd be friends with the 'weird kids' and ended up finding out that they are actually pretty cool, and am now friends with them. The pops ended up being jealous because I had healthy friendships, and were annoyed that I no longer liked them (which for them meant no more mooching off my niceness for them) I think this just goes to show that having friends that matter instead of peeps who are popular matters much more. I was a lot happier in the end. ;)

I have this friend that I've known since pre school and we became friends in 4th grade..best friends. Then we went to diff middle schools and now we go to the same high school. I wasn't worried about anything until summer going into freshman year. We didn't hangout that much in summer, just twice. Idk if I'm just paranoid because I get that way about friends and don't trust easily. She's a busy person but when I ask her to hangout she would say she's busy with dance or something but then there's always a time she's not. She does invite me to things like parties though but I get this vibe she doesn't wanna hangout with me anymore. She says "We need to hangout over break" but never do even when I try. I always thought she was the kind of friend that never really cared when I was upset. She would just open my snap chats and send me something random back or ignore it, so I started to do the same to her too but even if I tell her I have no friends just to see what she would say because I know if she were really my friend she would say "what about me." She does the same thing and ignores the text. I still have a hard time trusting her even though I stopped trusting people easily for many diff reasons. It feels like if she could hangout with her other friends instead of me, she would. We had half our classes together and she started to feel like a friend in school but not so much out. I've thought to myself "I'm so sick and done with her" but I'm not very good at making new friends. I've known her my whole life and it would be strange not to be. All the friends I've made this year are kind of through her too so idk what to do or what to think or if I should stop talking to her.

Very honest and very brave confession ! Thank you for sharing ! I believe everyone can relate to this subject.Its an ongoing circle that happens in every stage of life ,not just school. Peer pressure is a heavy thing to deal with when you're a young,naive,inexperienced individual but I would also put the responsibility on the way society works..meaning thru 'casts' ; either you're with the popular-selfish-empty headed kids, either with the nerds ! Personally,I've always rebelled against popular kids embracing more and more my weirdness. My best friends didn't go in the same school as me ,so I've always had to find my own way.I became a complete introvert but to me that meant 'a spiritual awaking'... Looking back today, I don't regret any of my decisions. They've made me very independent,brave and open minded. I'm in junior high now and in this coming school I'm already a sophomore.When I was in freshman level,there's a group of girls that is really popular--not only in our classroom but in our building.I'm a friendly type of person and they became my friends.I know cheating,copying,and breaking the rules is not great but we keep doing that.We became popular in our school because of that.And our popularity increased because the four popular guys in our building became our friends and joined our group.Sometimes we fight but we fix that immediently.Having a real friends really makes my everyday.It's alright to have crazy but true friends than having a normal but fake ones

I am in a friend group with four other girls. One of them is my best friend, who I have known for a long time. There is also the 'Regina George' of the group and two backups. One of them is quite nice. I have just had a huge argument with both where I have been accused of things. I know the two of them are fake friends, but they are also friends with the people who I like. Every time I try to talk to them about it they just defend them. I want to stop being friend with the two I don't like, but carry on being friends with the others. What should I do?

What do you do if you have a fake friend who completely bullies you, and denies it, but when you say stuff like that to her, she says you're bullying her to her mother, and her mother tells your mother and you get in trouble for that? I have a small school so I can't really befriend many other people...

I am currently in a very similar situation, my "friends" are always talking behind my back, sometimes they aren't very subtle about it. They are always trying to run away from me at lunch time and sometimes I am left alone. One of their favourite things to do, is to go to each other's houses without me and then talk about it as if it was so fun and then say it was a shame that they couldn't invite me.

Not to make friends at the first place but allow the feel of friendship grow by and by and the resultant individuals can be called friends. The friends turned out to be fake made you wise so even they are also not fake in a sense.

Great video Raffee, I found your insights very interesting. However, id like to interject that saying that "they" made you do something is kind of hypocritical. No one is forcing you to do anything. We should all take responsibilities for what we do no matter what influences. Granted, what they made you feel was not right, but you have your on mind. I feel that both places were at fault.

I'm having this situation right now but its kinda worse. So, I have 2 best friends. It was all good until one day, I felt something was up. They were using me. I thought i was they're best friend. I tried confronting them that i don't like it but in the end, we ended up with having a friendship problem. They started harassing me, hiding my binders, stealing my stationaries, tell my secret to others and so on. The whole class now thinks i'm weird and i have no friends and now i'm stuck in this situation. I have no other choices so i told my parents what happened and in the end, they got involved and make the problem bigger. If you have any tips then please tell me. I don't know what to do.

Ok so I have this person who all of a sudden decided we should be "bestfriends" , and would always talk about how her old bestmate ditched her put of no where and now she's " heartbroken " . But anyways , whenever she wants me to go to hers it's always very late notice she says stuff like come to mine now or meet me at the junction or things like that where she expects me to drop everything and go take care of her like her mum , then if I can't she gets grump at me and falls out with me . But doesn't really realise that because I also have to look after my brother and my horse that I nearly have anytime on my hands to just go and cater to her needs . She also gets very jealous whenever someone else meets up with me or even tiny things like getting a 100 snap streak with someone. Oh yeah and once when we fell out cos I couldn't go to hers she was on FaceTime with someone that fell out with me for no reason, talking about me behind my back whilst they where both having a go at me . Thank you very much for this video. One of my friends keeps cheating off my homework and never helps me when I need it. She also deletes pictures of me on her Instagram when she thinks I'm not looking. I guess I'm not cool enough. I also love anime and when I showed her she told me not to show anyone else or I won't be cool. I'm not even supposed to go to this manga club we have at my school. This really helped me and hopefully she will listen.

I had a friend, who was being horrible and bratty, and I just told her to get out of my life because she was being ridiculous. Yes, a bit rude, I must admit, but she doesn't deserve my time. It was true, she truly was horrible. Well, she is sending bad pics of me to my other friends who send them back to me. It isn't really hurting me, but I am now completely lonely. My classes split up, all my friends are in the same class but not with me, and it is just sad. Also I had a fake friend in preschool, her name was Katy, she only used me for kindness and one day, she kicked me really hard in front of the teachers and they didn't do anything until I said something. Katy was so mean to me that I had to switch from TLC to Spanish School House.

I have a couple of male friends, Adam and Larry, who I think don't truly care about me. They say they do, but I don't believe them. They sometimes ignore me, sometimes don't say a lot to me, don't always stick to their promises, make up excuses, and rarely like or comment on my posts. Larry is more rude than Adam. I sometimes usually initiate the conversations and I've told Larry to make it fair. We should alternate initiating the conversations. When we text or message each other, he sometimes only types one word replies or very short replies. I've told him the shows he doesn't care about me. He said he won't do it again, but he continues to. When Larry and I first met, he used to message me and text me a lot, but he doesn't that much anymore. I guess he is not interested in me anymore, even though he says he is interested. Adam, on the other hand, is the opposite. When Adam and I first met, he and I didn't talk that much and then, we started talking more and getting to know each other more. I feel like both of these guys don't care about me and I should stop being their friend.

Wooow another cool video! As I watched this video, instead of thinking if I ever had fake friends, I was thinking if there's some friends who look at me as one. I'm not sure, but I think I'm not. But I realize I have to treat them better than now. So... what do you think about me? You can say whatever you want XD Anyway, I can relate to your story. I didn't have any friends in elementary school, and in middle school finally I had friends but I felt something wrong with that so-called friendship. Similar to your story, I did rebel too because of their influence and at first I felt proud and happy because I thought I made real friends. But then I felt like doing something that's not really me. Luckily, there were friends who I thought were the real ones inside that circle and yeaaah I think I started getting real and great friends on high school. :3 Great video! The funny thing I remembered is that over class is full of nerds different kinds. There where the "Draw junkies" (me and my friends), "The A's" (the persons who always made there homework and learned for tests) and the "Singstars"(they where always singing). i have this group of friends. Everyone talks behind each others back and there is this one idiot who back stabs and pretends as though she didn't. all she does is throw insults at me and irritate me 24/7. i sometimes talk with her because rarely she speaks something nice. there were times when her presence used to make me mad. then i started thinking whether its my fault and i tried to change my attitude towards her behavior but i realized that i couldn't control her. so now i am friends with silent people of my class. she never cares about me and treats me like garbage.When she got new friends she saw me as an obstruction. Personally, I think the first point isn't necessarily a sign that a friend is fake. I can see if the friend constantly telling you 'Why don't we hang out anymore?' even though you guys had a meet up a few days ago, but if someone asks 'Hey, why don't we hang out anymore? I miss you!' after a few weeks/months of not hanging out then, well, that's very understandable. XD All the other points seem to be very accurate though. I also find that fake friends will try to isolate you or remove all other friends from your life so they have some form of control over the relationship and you. They'll get 'jealous' way too easily and start drama at the tip of a hat over the smallest of things.

First of all, really like your vid. It's so cute. I hope you can help me.. I'm in a really close group of friends (we we're with 4). This one friend had already started her study and the other 3 (including myself) started study that year. This also was the first year in which students didn't get money from the government, so she had a little bit of a money issue. She also got a boyfriend through omegle or smth and it was long distance. And to this point nothing was going on, but she continued to not hang out with us, because she wanted to talk to her bf. We already confronted her with it and for a month or so it started getting better. She got a job and hanging out with us became an even lower priority to her. Next to that, all the money went to her bf. For example she didn't get one of the friends a birthday present because she had to work when she celebrated it, or we wanted to go shopping together bit she didn't come with us because it would cost too much (even though she didn't even have to spend money because she could've chose not to buy anything). Again confronted her with it and she even said she felt excluded from the group and that it didn't really bother her that she wasn't hanging out with us (which of course really hurt our feelings). Because of all the irritarions we are now talking behind her back about her and all feel really bad, but we want to get her back and we don't know how, or if we even should try since we tried so many times before. +Afke van der Veen First of all, thank you :D Secondly, I can understand how you and your friends feel regarding this one friend of yours not being able to hang out with you anymore, but you gotta remember that your friend is having money issue, and it's not something that is easy to handle, especially at a young age. Money issue can cause someone to have low self-esteem and lack of confidence, and even though you told her that she could still hang out with you without even having to spend her money on anything, she might not share the same views as you. She might think that it's easy for someone else to say: "Oh you don't have to spend your money on anything. We can still hang out! I'll even pay for you if you want!" but to her, being put in that situation is probably quite mortifying. Imagine yourself not having enough money to go by, and having to work hard whilst studying at school/college at the same time, while your peers are out there having fun without needing to worry about how they''ll be able to pay the bills or put some food on the table for them and their family to eat. Imagine having to become an adult and having a lot of responsibilities at an early age. That is what your friend is facing right now. She didn't _choose_ to not buy any present or attend the birthday party, in fact, she might not have _had_ any choice in the matter because she had to do her job or else she'd get fired. She might not have gone to the mall with you not because she didn't _want_ to, but because she was embarrassed that she didn't have enough money to buy anything unlike everyone else. As for her boyfriend problem, it is not something that anyone can control. We can always give our friend some advice, but in the end, it's her life and it's up to her to decide whether she wants to stay with her boyfriend or not. It might seem cruel and heartless to let our friend be in a relationship that we deem useless, but that's just how things work. No matter how hard you try to convince her to leave her boyfriend, if she doesn't want to, then she won't leave him. TL;DR, try to understand your friend a bit more. She's already having problems right now, she doesn't need more problems from her best friends. If she's too busy to hang out with you because she has other things to do, let her. Only time can tell whether your friendship will last or not. If she ends up drifting away from you, then maybe you guys are just not meant to be. Perhaps you'll become close friends again in the future, who knows? I think I've talked too much, haha. Tbh I've been in a similar situation before, but I was in your friend's position. I had money issues and had to work 2 jobs while studying at the same time. I couldn't hang out with my friends even if I wanted to because I didn't have enough money to spend and most of my time was spent either working or studying. Realistically speaking, going out with friends _will_ cost some money, even if it's just a little, but for someone with money issue, spending even the littlest bit of money is still a problem. Of course, everything that I've said is just my opinion. I don't know you or your friends IRL so I can't really offer any accurate advice that will solve all your friendship problems.
