This wasn't stated in the video but was implied, Guard Crush DOES NOT give throw protection like getting hit or blocking does. So when Pot for example is in range after garuda impact, it IS a 50/50 situation, because he can hit same frame with pot buster and a normal and you CAN'T use fuzzy defense.
@Coolpopcorn192 жыл бұрын
Noob question, but what is the 50/50 between then if you can't fuzzy, and his throw will beat your throw if you try to clash? Do you have to backdash?

What prevents Pot from throwing you with prc after garuda? Or he can't prc it?
@someguymalleth2 жыл бұрын
@@thegoose8663 To clarify, guard crush doesn't give extra throw protection after it ends unlike normal hitstun/blockstun/wakeup. However you're still throw immune during the guard crush. So they can't get a guaranteed PB on garuda block. Though they can do a fakeout where they prc the garuda before it lands and then PB you.

Came here for the Mario RPG OST, got some defensive options as a bonus! Good day!
@rin-senpai71152 жыл бұрын
Very nice video, what I personally struggle the most is choosing an option. Some people don't care for risk/reward, others care alot and then there are people who seem to just literally coinflip everytime. I guess that means I'm getting conditioned too easily? It gets hard to say what to choose when a Sol does 5 fS in a row and you don't know if the next one is gonna be a 5H frametrap or not.
@smithmichael81442 жыл бұрын
6p beats that, back dash also beats it. You can also FD which pushes him out to ENCOURAGE him to not 50/50 you. Honestly playing better defense will take a lot of the power out of his mix. Make him work to stay in and you got this :)

@@granddaddy_funk it happens a lot not because of meter but simply because you press a kick or punch before the other. Very annoying. First of all thanks for the video, they’re all really insightful and super interesting to watch. As someone who’s transitioning from SFV to Strive, I do find a lot of things needed to be learned differently. Right now, I’m in the spot where I learned my bnb combos, pressure, basic okis and got to 10th floor without any problem. However, I noticed that celestial players are just generally playing at a MUCH higher level and seem to know my character way better than I do. A lot of “answers” that I found against certain situations were not actually “answers” at all when I fight against decent players in celestial. So I’m wondering is there a good way to get familiar with those specific situations/interactions for me, is it better to just learn and play every character in the game? Sorry for the looooong ass question, truly appreciate what you do LK🙏
@jeezi36202 жыл бұрын
I'd say probably not. Watching gameplay and playing with other players in discord servers can be really helpful for learning your own and other characters, and learning to play a character takes a lot of time. Of course, learning other characters is the best way to learn how they work, but it's a lot of work for a result that's maybe slightly better than learning it the other ways. I hope this was helpful.

on the nago bite, i think the thing with him is that when his blood is really high some actions (like fukyo, fSS, 6K, etc) can be really big tells that a bite is coming so you can defend better by knowing when nago is looking to clean up their gauge.
@smithmichael81442 жыл бұрын
Mhmm. Nago is fighting for his life too it's just in a different way lol. So if you let him wear himself out so he can't cheat without popping he's a lot less scary. Avoiding the bite situation entirely can be REALLY good cause then he doesn't get anything. Also sometimes taking the heavy slash so they can't fukyo in 50/50 is solid too for the same reason.
@LegendaryMythril2 жыл бұрын
@@smithmichael8144 getting hit with the 5H is never a good idea because it drains more blood than a fukyo would add in, and they can follow up with another 5H or 6H if it's a counter hit

recently started using BRC a lot and its great as a defensive option. on a hard read on a gap in their pressure you can get a lot of return. also really useful against characters like anji and i-no, it can make you win neutral against them and not end up getting mixed/pressured in the first place
@nathandam64152 жыл бұрын
BRC has start up frames so you’re liable to eat shit if you do this. Don’t actually use BRC defensively, unless you’re reading a grab or something (66 BRC is airborne and the grab will whiff). YRC is better because you’re plus on hit and it guard crushes- so depending on the spacing you can pull of a strike-throw mix on your opponent and steal a turn.
