You are such a lovely person and you certainly have a wonderful flair for decorating. The one thing that puzzles me are the many, many bouquets of flowers and greenery that are not real...they may be of good quality, but they are fake. I have plenty of greenery in my home, but they are real, live, growing things. I don't see one real and authentic plant in your house. Yes, living plants are more work, but you have the great satisfaction of seeing things grow, or bloom...or not. If you aren't successful try a plant that will do better in a certain spot. A few flowers from the florist, or a supermarket are not that expensive and have the advantage of adding fragrance, as well as colour. It is all about authenticity, plus letting your boys see the miracle of plants thriving.

Your home is very welcoming, warm, and cozy! Maybe you could add a few more touches of that gorgeous purple around the room. For example, perhaps some sprigs of purple in your baskets on the wall, a fluffy throw blanket and/or some cushy throw pillows on the couch and chairs. (or in the basket on the floor by your couch) You might do another of your exquisite paintings using shades of purple, green, and lovely neutrals. Even a small one on an easel for a tabletop. Adding an eggplant or some gorgeous decorative ears of purple Indian corn to your pumpkins could be smashing! Or a purple candle. Maybe even a small area rug in your entry area. You have such a keen eye for color, Andrea! I can't wait to see what you show us next and your bathroom! Linda 💜

I am watching some of your older videos here. I really like your style. Your home look adorable. I find that I do like the farmhouse style but I know not everything goes with that in my house. I sofa's are more modern. So I have to find a way to incorporate those even I changed more to farmhouse. We are planning to do our living room celing in beadboard type look. It is just I saving and purchasing it. Living in AZ and it being more southwest, our house outside will not have a farmhouse look but the inside can. We live in a townhouse and I really like our townhouse but it is stucco on the outside with some wood. So I want to get a plant basket to hangover the balcony to put plants in it. I also want my husband to build a flower shelf for under our kitchen windows. I saw the idea on pinterest. I enjoy watching your videos. I enjoy your sweet spirit about things and I can relate more with you places as some homes are to over the top and not everyone has that kind of budget. Thanks for sharing this.

If you put some of that purple floral stem along with greenery in a basket or other container set on the floor it would brighten up said corner. Love your decorating ideas and your channel. Have you considered using some small pieces of your white dishes, a bowl, a small pitcher, a sugar bowl, filled with greenery and sprigs of your new purple plants for a little color on you side table with your lamp. That may help brighten that corner. Do you like books to decorate with? How about some of your copper pieces or one of your newest water color prints on a small easel on you table or mantle. how about some larger sprigs of wheat, pods, thistle or other dried things from your yard for your crocks near the fireplace? A small warm colored hooked rug or throw on the table or your wooden box to soften and add texture and color? Just some ideas.

And even this last video where you couldn't quite pull together your space, was most useful and lovely and honest. Keep posting and I shall keep watching your episodes all the way from France. Andrea. Just felt i wanted to share this with you. You encourage us, I want to encourage you. Just came in from my morning walk . Got caught in a passing shower. Cant run any more so just got wet. Kind of fun. Anyway each time i walk past my house I'm critiquing my front fall porch. The welcome sign is tall the pumpkins sitting in front are short needed some tall grass infront of sign behind pumpkins. So with your words in my mind giving me tips, i "shopped my yard" cut some tall grasses. Looking at that for a couple days something still not right, in the rain this morning cut some sedum and hydrangea and put in with the grasses. BINGO. ALSO the concrete pumpkins i made, did not like in the pot. Moved them, too. BINGO. (All in the rain mind you) Creativity takes time and patience and keep at it attitude. Which i know you all have. So girlfriend go forth, hear you roar and create. Your friend. Carol

As a master home stager and am stumped by a room and every home usually has that one room that you stand in the door way scratching your head. The best way is to remove all but the main pieces, ie; sofa, chairs...everything. Then next begin by making sure the main pieces are where you want them then begin adding occasional tables, then lamps, wall pieces, and finally the surfaces. Presto✨⚡️

Sometimes I go thru each room in the house - even the bathroom! - and see what elements give me the cosy feeling I'm looking for. It might be a wall or just a few pieces. A color, an object, a piece of furniture, may be the singular inspiration. I think the upcoming fall/winter seasons are going to be so much different this year for all of us that we are all encountering a block of sorts. But I think almost a sense of simplicity and calm will be key in our home styling - not a frantic buying spree for new things or overloading every nook and shelf with objects. I think bringing that feeling of serenity will be the key to getting thru the holidays and coming months. Call it the true hygge life or slow living - our bodies and minds seek the quiet side now.

Thank you for these tips, that's so helpful. My favourite home decor book is an old 'Irish Georgian Interiors' and everytime I need some inspiration I take it out. Books are so helpful, and blogs like yours too! Definitely coinciding decorating with a deep room clean is perfect timing. I find when I'm pulling out furniture to clean behind them it's the ideal time to shake things up a bit and make some changes. I've also given myself permission not to decorate for a season if the inspiration isn't flowing. Sometimes we need to give ourselves a break 🧡

So glad to see another video. My 1'st thought was try a small purple dish, tray, glass bottle, esp in front of a window on the table with the brown lamp. The eye will travel from purple stem to purple on table. Would remove the white pumpkin on floor. looks "lonely". How about some leafy tree branches in the crocks @ fireplace, maybe 3ft high to draw the eye up. just a suggestion. I have 2 shelves in my sunroom that I have been stumped with for 7 yrs!!! Just a few suggestions, Change the round top table with the lamp with the square table by the couch. Place the fire place grate under the double window as more texture and color. Use the large crock in front of the fire place grate with sticks from the yard and a few pumpkins. The little pumpkin is too small. The light color table with the round top would be another texture next to your couch. The basket at the end of your couch on top of the small bench next to the fireplace with pumpkins. On your shelves next to the fireplace put multiple color pumpkins and sticks from your yard and some pretty glass jars on the shelves would look great. I have really enjoyed your videos. I hope you find something out of this. Have a great day and keep posting your videos.

Tore into my kitchen yesterday and yes, it required shopping. 😉. Our nesting instincts are hitting with fall and we want to get it just right. I bought a bunch of antique cream-colored crocks in different shapes and sizes, cracks and chips, but they add instant softness and character and are kind of a rest for the eye. I had a lot of wood and hard surfaces and these fit the bill with some rounded shapes and a little sheen. Something about big pieces of pottery just settle me down. And editing...always editing. For me, I do better with fewer, bigger pieces and I weed out my small stuff and it helps me stay calm and satisfied with a look. The same goes with very little color...I do best with creams, straw colors and golds, with all light or white woods. It takes years as your tastes evolve, so know that you are ahead of the game and your home is stunning, and even when it’s frustrating, it’s a blast to rearrange. Oh, and find a great antique dealer who will buy or trade!! ☺️☺️

I think a wreath with purple, white and green flowers at that corner-window would help?! And little pumpkins in white and green beside the table lamp. And maybe a white throw-pillow with a purple ribbon, handstitched or with a loop?! Quickly changeable... Greetings from cologne

Hello! These are all great ideas, thank you so much! I love the wreath idea especially!

Your decorating style is beautiful with soft natural colors and lots of texture. You have a great eye for furnishings and color. I know one thing that I look for in a room when my arrangement is falling a bit flat for me is gleam - simple glass, white ironstone, glazed pottery, brass, beautiful old china, and so on. Often I will spray paint something aged brass to add gleam. I just ordered Antique Gold Rub ‘n Buff to try out on an old mirror frame in our entryway. I’m looking forward to seeing what you discover is missing for you. There’s just something about tending to our homes that feeds the soul! ♥️

I don't know how you finished the living room; I do know that when I saw the empty crocks beside the fireplace, I wanted to trade one of the crocks with the spindle-legged table to create a grouping on the hearth with pumpkins, a crock holding greens/purple stems and a candle nestled in greens on the table at the fireplace. The second crock I would put beside the chair with a blanket spilling out of it. I know you know to balance your colors across the space: I hope you put a touch of the white and purples in your wall baskets. Be blessed.

The purple or burgundy color in arrangement might look good added as a throw or some throw pillows. Maybe a little to monoc hromatic
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
Yes, several have suggested throw pillows and blankets. That is such a good idea! Thank you!

Just spent over one hour fixing my home all around... have to relax, and look around, then it will come to you... I do this EVERY DAY... how sad is that, right? Lol... love to decorate! You have to love it when you are all done... or start over...You can not put something in a room one day then something another day... you have to do the whole room all at once... just my tip!

You could also move the square table by the sofa over by the chair by the window. It looks big enough.
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
Yes, possibly. I am sure it will be moved several times before it feels just right. I love moving things around!

I think you need to get some plaid pillows (eggplant and Forrest green) and a new throw...the sofa pillows and throw aren’t transistion ing to fall like the rest of your beautiful home...also take down some of the wire baskets and window and put up your incredible fall art! A cozy rug and some cool lamp shade too! I love your home🌻
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
Ooh plaid would be pretty, a lot of other great ideas too. Thank you so much for your kind words and advice!

I love the natural rocking horse on your shelf and the size of it. Where did you find it?
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
I found it at an antique store a few years ago, but I have heard they have them at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I hope you find one!

Such good tips thank you. Where do you get your living room rugs from?
@kathyhaynes68184 жыл бұрын
Perhaps you could find tea lights and candles in that purple color.
@jeanieturner8754 жыл бұрын
One of the things you can do is just add a little more purple by a throw or a pillow.
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
Very true, that is a great way to add a pop of color to a room!

Add some different throws as yours are too summery. Group your pumpkins with moss, cones and, twigs.
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
That is a great idea, thank you! I never thought to try moss too! I will play around with it all and it will hopefully "click" eventually.

Your home is lovely key word home. Very inviting. As well as you paint could you do a water color of beautiful flowers to go over chair by window. I enjoy your channel very much and you are doing great job. Marian

Love your coffee table, may I ask how to arrange those in the bucket, what I mean what is holding the stems in the bucket? You will figure this out...you are brilliant!, love your info!

Kathleen Maxcy Hope you don’t mind me jumping in here 😊 She seems to have picked up a stem or 2 while she was talking, so I think the stems are long enough & full enough that they’re just sitting in there supported by each other - but, if you need to, you can always hot glue foam inside - sometimes, too, when I have stems that aren’t long enough, I use floral tape and add a wooden skewer or part of one to make the stem longer - cheap & easy !

@@Melody-285 Yes this is correct, thank you! I hope this helped you Kathleen!

Hi Andrea, I love your blog, youtube channel and instagram. This was a great video. Do you have advice for someone who has tried and tried and tried to blog and just can't get the knack and feels like they are falling short? I love decorating and was doing DIY before, well...lets just say a long time. But, I have tried blogging for years and I always feel silly and that my stuff is not quite right. You and your posts are always so polished, any videos and advice on this would be amazing and very much appreciated.

Oh my goodness, I think we all feel this way about our own work. We are our own worst critics! I did write a post on blogging, did you happen to see that? If not, just head. to www.pineandprospecthome.com/blogger-q-a-your-questions-my-answers/ maybe that might help? Anyways, I will be praying for you and hope you are able too try again at it!❤️

Did you consider using doilies, especially on the table where it is too much brown? I think doilies add softness and a cottage and vintage feel!
@PineandProspectHome4 жыл бұрын
I have not considered that, maybe I will give it a try! Thank you!

Maybe the coffee table is enough. Simple and elegant. It's always tempting to over decorate. Music always helps every thing. Bring in a couple plants
@janefromthecountry18203 жыл бұрын
1. Listen to music. 2. Look at your home decor books. 3. Go outside, to get ideas. 4. Take the risk. Do not afraid to do big things. 5. Shop your home. Go window shopping. 🌟

Andrea love the fire place. So next on the right hand is a box how about put the lamp in it than you can swap the little tables as you said. I will add more to this comment as I go on your video. Also please please turn up the volume on you recording. My device on full sound and hardly can hear your soft voice. I agree to take photoes I do watch the lifestyle channel and always taking pictures on the TV if I like someting even if I turf it out later because I changed my mind.

Thank you very much, I will try to work on the volume as well!

For height in front of the fireplace - could you forage for some pompus grass? (Hair spray it so it doesn't fall apart as it dries). Looks great. Now, I'm gonna go turn the music on... thanks

Thank you, I could try this yes. Enjoy the music!!

Add the color in more paintings, or pillow, or a "knick knack".....when I'm having a problem with a look or a room....I take a picture from different angles and most of the time....the "problem" sticks out. YOU'LL figure it out! Your house looks great

I love this idea, thank you! You are right, it will eventually "click" I just need to be patient. Thank you for your encouraging words.

Would the little cabinet (I think it's green) at the end of your kitchen counter fit beside the white chair in the living room where the brown lamp is? No idea if that would work but it came to mind. Your videos are so pretty and helpful! 😊
