Not really proud of it but i had a gm basically win till we sat for probably an extra 90 mins taking a card[this stopped too and became just fortifying] and passing (16k troops vs 24k) but despite my 'stalling' i sat on 4 cards the entire time eventually he pulled everything but 1k troops off cap to the only territory i was open too but the point is it just takes one mistake( which i kept trying to get him to make ) eventually i pulled off about 800 troops and got him to lower his only dedending cap to 500 (sets were 900) and won the next turn but hey in hindsight not worth the almost 5 hour caps game e.e

Hey man as long as you're not waiting your turn it's fine. There's a difference between stalling and stalemate. The former is our fault as players, the latter is not.

It feels like through much of the game white was insisting on bonuses. I know it is usually said bonuses dont really matter, but in a long game like this isnt it a big part of why white was usually ahead?

Pete, do you think adding a setting into the game that makes your color random when you spawn into the game and hides who the player is would be a good addition? Think it would make tournament games more fun so you don’t know who is who and can’t target a specific player.

Hey Pete, love your content a lot, but this was painful to watch. Some thoughts on how to improve your endgame: 1. at the start of that 1v1, once red flagged, take his easy cards one by one and create pockets, so that if white wants to hit red aswell, he needs to hit your territories first, so he gives you two cards for every one you take. 2. dont hit caps unnecessarily because that just looses you troops. 3. dont over attack, not even to hit off cap troops (unless that wins you the game) 4. dont trade early unless youre about to die or can guarantee a card block on the other guy 5. dont take the board, that way you actually open yourself up to a card block. 6. dont let your oponent hold bonuses you controll. (Like africa in this case, you could have started your block in egypt a lot sooner) 7. keep especially those caps strong, that are open to your opponent, even if the locked ones are strategically better placed, because that way they wont have a 100% roll. (8. dont reinforce your softblocks when your opponent has 5 cards, because that just loses you more troops than them most likely, even if they stupidly overattack all of them in a row.) There were some other minor mistakes, but thats the main issues i noticed. This game could have been over after like an hour or an hour and a half at max. (it honestly almost felt like you deliberatly stalled it out some times, though i dont think so. ;-D) Also obviously theres exceptions to all of these guidelines, but in generell, they work pretty well. There, had to get this one out of my System. GGs for sticking this one out anyway!

Another comment, this time for a question. I imagine youre not too fond of the aus/siam position but when thats the best option i find it personally best to not even take the pocket and hold it for later on, how do you feel about this? Not worth it? Is it better to get others to card block so that they fight? I like having pockets like aus and 1 point SA so that i have the option to card farm with someone later to either block the remaining player(s) or protect myself from a block But thats probably not the entertaining choice as apposed to watching/creating fights amongst the other players?

How is it possible that he losses around 1400 more than you Pete? 😮 2:31:30 Edit: When searching reddit I learned that capital troops get an extra dice while defending. 2:40:23 In the Last battle you almost had a 50/50 loss, while you attacked his last capital. So that is pure luck I guess? (I'm new at Risk, started after comming accros your video's)

26:38 how is there so much game left? Oh boy, it's like they say in chess, the perfect game ends in a draw, in risk a high skill stalemates? I guess they say that?. 28:20 what i wasn't watching for was all those card trade ins, okay now it's more stable. 31:13 so they are both new, and are not probably going to make some dynamic plays at all, i should probably find a good spot to stop and just scrub the video for highlights. We are getting close to the setting in part. 35:27 okay time to just scrub away. oh... okay, so pete and white are about to do something so let's wait until 40 minutes in.

It’s to prevent a mistake when fortifying. If you move your whole stack out and then mess up the fortification, you can leave all your troops or most of them off cap. It’s very unlikely to happen but it is a possibility over hundreds and thousands of turns.

I'm not Pete but I like to share my opinion here: You don't want to fight 2 players at the same time. Preferably you wanna fight 1 player with the help of another player. Breaking a +3 in progressive cap after 30 minutes of the game going on is only going to damage you more than anything --remember the game is not about fighting other players ,it's about winning the match.
@DreamApostle128
@DreamApostle128 7 ай бұрын
Also Red did exactly that.. He broke bonuses and you can see he got 3rd And let me tell you he only got 3rd not because he is good but because orange skipped a +8 card and green and black killing eachother I expected red to get 5th and black 6th based on how they played Red trading too fast and black begging green for a suicide slam

@@Elra94 Well he has turned off his camera before in other videos only to turn it on with a cup in his hand. Even later on in the video, he took a bathroom break and turned off his camera at 2:35:00 and then came back at 2:37:00. My main point being that most likely he turns off his camera to do the things he's claiming to do. The main reason he turns on his camera when he's doing push ups is to motivate us, the viewers, to also take a stretch and break from out computers. That's not to mention that he's usually only gone for a minute or two; barely enough time to do anything.

It kinda sounds like you're making wild assumptions about what he's doing with the camera off for a minute and then trying to police this imaginary behaviour which would be none of your business regardless.
