I'm a psychiatric nurse. I work a locked unit full of violently psychotic patients. We've had two straight up brawls on the unit that staff have had to intervene on in the last week. This particular self-defense technique saved my ass. Got online to look up some additional techniques to keep myself safe when someone is coming straight for your face. Glad to see you teaching a technique that has worked for me. I'm definitely going to watch more of your videos. Thank you!

Thank you sifu... My San soo sinsei.. Expressed this during many sessions that our techniques could fault if executed during a rush of punches.. In your video.. It shows that a lot. once you allow your attack-er, to attack you positioned your self in their center by move block.stun.. Than You were able to work.. I'm new to your channel.. So I will search for videos on forms before I ask if you have any... Thanks again master

I like to think of my hands and elbows as a cage that protects my face and can damage my opponent's face if i can get in range. Ducking in is great for this. Putting your elbows in is a great way to put your influence in your opponent's danger zone. Hitting back is essential. Hit back. They won't stop hitting you if you never hit back.

Most martial arts instructors have never been in a street fight in their lives.
@thevillageyid8 жыл бұрын
Probably because they're not meatheads looking for a fight.
@grahamblack19618 жыл бұрын
+the village yid That's probably true. However, unless you actually know what real violence is like, all the training in the world won't prepare you for defending yourself. If someone hits you and you aren't used to it, you might just be too shocked to do anything. Also, in street fights people won't play by the rules.
@thevillageyid8 жыл бұрын
Graham Black I'm with you on that. I guess sparring would be a step in the right direction. But you can't tell me training in a proper self defense art for over 5-10 years won't do you some good in a real fight.

@jo49318 жыл бұрын
If he covers your mouth, it's a good position to make a fart sound with your mouth. The attacker will hear it and feel disgusted and then let go as he thought it's a real fart.
