In my opinion and experience, one of the most important things to do it to tuck your chin to prevent the back of your skull from smashing into the wall. Thank you for sharing.

Thank You So Much, Fight Science Master! I was actually in a similar situation once, in the course of my employment. I was tackled and slammed to the ground, and actually injured my shoulder. I ended up having to defend myself from the ground with my feet and one arm. As the assailant stomped me, I trapped one foot, and swept the other, taking him to the ground. Unfortunately, I had been unconscious earlier in the fight, and a neighbor intervened. This is Vital Information you’re teaching. Thank You, Again!

Practice, the best way to get it is constant drills, conditioning your system to those actions.

Nice ideas, I am thinking about the wall as a solid surface, which can give you stabilisation to make defensive movements. It can really help in defence

I've seen that once in real life. A waiter and a guest started an argument over hidden costs and the guest stood up and the waiter seriously tried to cave his skull in with a full bottle of wine. The guest stopped it by pushing him back with such force that he slammed into a small piece of furniture, bent his back over it and hit the wall. It hurt already from watching. Still the waiter wasn't impressed and tried again but was called back by the wife of the restaurant owner. I had the feeling that he feared her more than death...
@fightscience6 жыл бұрын
But did the waiter get a tip?
@edi98926 жыл бұрын
@@fightscience I doubt it. However, the family paid the full price for the meal. The female boss and the wife of the guest left no other choices... PS: that happened in Venice close to the Doge-palace. All the restaurants there are horrible tourist-traps

But why turn to the side? I would rather stay squared up to my opponent, this way I can better keep/get under hooks in or just grab ahold of my opponent, I am not giving him the option of stepping behind me and getting my back, and I am spreading the impact out across my back, a much larger area. yes your chin would need to be tucked very well to keep your skull from bouncing of the wall, however if I were to shoot my legs back, almost in the typical double leg takedown defense my legs and ass would absorb most of the force. Idk this I just what I would do and seems more logical to me than your approach but hey a fight is dynamic and anything can happen, plus there are multiple ways to defend a certain attack or to set it up and execute it.
@fightscience6 жыл бұрын
Agreed, your options would work well. My concern is always to keep my head from bouncing off the wall. That said you are aware of that, so good job on your part. As for the back take, same concept as in Jiu Jitsu. Get on your side but don't angle so much as you give your back. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Get underhooks and try to create space between you two and if possible, turn him against the wall.

I was taught in Judo to relax/breath out/not hold my breath as our body is pushed against a hard surface (whether a wall or the floor). Do you advocate that also? Thank you.
@fightscience6 жыл бұрын
Whether being thrown or being pushed against a wall the concept is to relax. Works well when being thrown. Thanks for watching.
@brutaler72786 жыл бұрын
I think you can not relax at all If you relax your muscles while getting thrown towards a wall you get seriously injured

I dont think that a guy with his weight want to push you against a wall, I think in the opposite way, it wouldn t be so easy for him to bend you and push you to the ground

This is terrible advice. There are so many variations and the most common is not a tackle towards a wall. People have good instincts not to ram their head into walls. A should check? sure. Not a full spear in which his head is turned down that means the speed is part of the attack. The desired effect. Winding. Spirit debuffer. Whiplash. Impact and correction Disoriention. Suprise And Knockdown. If a Maniac was coming at you with this attack against a wall. Use grappling. He obvious intends on takedowns. Regardless of setting. To on impact absorb it. Best defense is lock his head down in a choke. If he's got multiple buddies jumping in. Do it anyway anbe prepared to be hit. Choke with an intensity. Infact go ahead and snap the neck if you are getting jumped Suboptimal advice.3 piece combo. 1.elbowdrop the back 2. knee the head. Uppercut. Hell throw in a Stomp the toes if you miss the knee. Administer a shocking amount of power and authority to reclaim initiative and drive some shots. Hell reconsider if 2 or more connect. More importantly learn how to not be in this stupid predicament. Life is short and won't be like rehearsals.

what do you think about beating the back of the head or getting the opponents head in a headlock? as long as my back is against the wall, he cant take me down. i guess knees adn uppercuts work too?
