I wanted to come back after my reset, and Thank You So So Much, I was honestly worried something bad would happen, but I followed your directions, and backed up my iCloud right before resetting my phone, and everything worked out perfectly, all of my apps are loading back up, there’s only a couple left that are loading, and my storage space is down to almost nothing, when it was too full to do anything, I deleted almost all my apps, and pics and it was saying it was still too full smh, but now it’s nearly empty, this is amazing, thank you so so much!!

I was having the same issues. You guys need to backup your phone first and then reset it. But don’t do (reset all settings) do (erase all content and settings! That will take you to the beginning like if the phone was brand new. But don’t worry you won’t lose anything everything is backed up on iCloud and the (other) storage goes way down.

Yeah so a week ago I was on my iPhone as any other day..... strangely I got an odd notification bubble that said “iPhone storage full”..... we all know that annoying pop up. But moving on I clicked manage storage and I wanted to see what on earth could have filled my iPhone XS (512GB) with half a 1TB of local storage. So I’ve noticed the “other” using 47.9GB. So I’ve deleted my largest apps at the top of the list(about 15-20) apps. But then I reinstalled them and guess what I freed up about 75GB of space. But that “other” was still using (47.9GB). Honestly I had no idea what on Earth that was. I told myself a cloud back up and factory Reset would be my only option and yeah it worked. “Other” is now using 2.33GB of space.

Well if it’s photos, there is recently deleted, if you have already to deleted that..., then download google photos, back them up on to the app. Then turn off your iCloud, or in general your Apple ID account. The other will die down drastically. I think Icloud saves the photos in case... I am not sure... this worked for me now I have back 15gb.

This is really useful tip! i've saved about 17GB. However, it is VERY much advisable to manually back up files like documents and images. As some document/image viewing app DOES NOT back up its contents even though the iCloud backup option is turned on. It only backs up the settings of those apps. For a very much understandable reason of possibly handling sensitive documents.

I was nervous asf to erase all content and settings but my storage was reading really wrong after I deleted a ton of stuff and it showed 42gb of system data and 19gb of photos even tho I deleted them all. So i backed it up like you said and went for the full reset and it totally fixed the storage issues and cleared all that bs. Thank you so much! Anyone reading this comment yes it works. did you really uninstalled every app from your phone? and Uploaded all data to google 😂, Still Apple is better. In Android just clear cashes, primarily activate google photos. and enjoy ton of app in just 32Gigs. (Also you can through literally all apps (and media) to SD Card)

Khizar Laique yes, i uninstalled and reinstalled. Didn’t lose anything. The process was fast. I'm on a 128gb iPhone XR. Before that I was for the longest time android (Samsung Galaxy) and unless things have changed that fast, which I doubt, storage to the sd card is limiting. Most apps don't store on the sd.

What can I say that everybody else hasn’t already said?! This is an excellent tutorial! I have used it once before when I had my iPhone 8. I have since purchased an iPhone SE, 2 generation With 128 gigs Like two years ago but here lately it has been so laggy and nothing wants to load on it and I mean nothing! I found an article that suggested Things to try before doing reset and I tried all that stuff and None of it worked. Try offloading your apps first if you haven't already! It doesn't delete the data itself, just the space of the app. Then you should have enough in there to backup using iCloud. The same thing happened with me.

here’s a tip so you won’t need to delete all your pictures (do this BEFORE your storage is all empty) download google photos and make an account if you don’t already have one. that way all your photos will be on there, and you can delete the ones (when needed) from the photos app
