Except Kathy Bates card print is so small it's unreadable. That's the #1 DON'T : make it legible for people without needing a magnifier. I redesign business cards for people over 20.

Thanks for the video, that was really helpful. However, I am making business cards mostly to put on bulletin boards to advertise french lessons for Alliance Francais, so everything has to be on the front of the card, including the QR code. Any ideas for making that pop out from the other 50 cards on the board?

Make the QR code fill half the card and then just put "French Language Lessons, Scan for more info" on the other half.

"Pop off the paper". I actually despise this terminology. "Pop" is not a descriptive visual term. Any creative that uses this term doesn't know the difference between impact and contrast, as such, they use this ideological and non descript term as a blanket synonym, for their own lack of professional terminology. Stop doing this. Please. Use actual language and don't be lazy... Rock on creatives!
