Thank you for making this video! It has helped tremendously! I don't know if you want to add this to your video or not, but this is how to add the barcode to the backcover using Canva. I just opened the IngramSpark template that was now turned into a JPEG, in another Canva tab and then I cropped the barcode, copied and pasted it onto the backcover in the open file I was working on in the first Canva tab, as I put all the pieces of my book cover together. Also, since I got a free trial of Canva Pro, they offered extra check boxes to save it as a PDF for print. There is a box to check to "flatten" and one for "CMYK." The "flatten" option helped, but when I downloaded another version from Canva in CMYK, it made everything duller in color. So it's a personal choice. Ingram Spark did accept my book cover after I followed all your directions and for everyone to know, I downloaded my finished file from Canva doing the following: File Type: PDF Print, Flatten PDF & Color profile: RGB. Hi Lori-Michelle! I'm glad to know you have found my video useful. It's been a while (3 years or so) since I recorded that tutorial and many things might have changed, both with IngramSpark and Canva. I only ever used the free version of Canva, so I don't have experience with the Pro (as far as I remember). And I wasn't 100% pleased with the print quality (and other things) coming from IngramSpark, so in the last few years I've used Amazon KDP to print and ship my books. Thanks again for your detailed comment. I've been editing all day the manuscript of my upcoming book and my eyes are a bit tired, so sorry if I missed something. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by 'the pieces around it'... I uploaded a separate file for the cover and a separate file for the interior. It's been a while since I published that book.

@@MKpurplequeennl Usually you download the template in the sizing required for your book depending on your number of pages, etc, design your book cover on that sizing/on top of the template, and then upload that exported PDF with the finished design. I still don't quite understand your question. I probably showed in the video all the required steps I took. The size of the cover automatically must include extra stuff, unimportant, that will get cut off. That's to insure there's no white borders on the finished printed cover, etc. You should have recommended lines where to go off or not go beyond with important elements. I now use Affinity Publisher to design my books because it offers more flexibility than canva, in case you want to check that out. AP is not free, compared to canva, but is not expensive either.
