Notes : 📝 1. get inspired (Pinterest, windowshopping, take pictures of things you like) 2. analyse and meassure your room 3. create a floorplan 4. create a moodboard 5. shop the look (from biggest items to little details like decoration, take paintchips from the store and look at them at home ) 6. We always say Pinterest is the inspiration hub. But never say KZbin is a great way of inspiration as well. Because KZbin videos like yours are the one that really makes you work on your inspiration from Pinterest.

I love looking at Houzz and building boards, it has shown me that I gravitate to the same looks over and over

I always first think about what I don’t like about the space and why I want to change it and how. Then I think about architectural things like finding the focal point or the arrangement of furniture roughly. After that I look for inspiration and shop my pieces. Before I decorate I create a mood board just like you did.

I always look at your videos for inspiration because the contents are different from a lot of other KZbinrs. After watching your videos I always learn something new, and I always am excited and inspired to do something new with my space. Especially videos like this are realllllly helpful and answered so many questions that at least I had in my mind about the design process. Loved this video! So fun seeing how you prepare for a room makeover! As you I'm very much inspired by Pinterest and Instagram, and I also love window shopping! But do you have any ideas for us who might get stuck during the initial inspiration phase?!? I'm planning on doing a complete makeover of my craft room soon and I have so many ideas, too many literally, I can't seem to decide on what style to go for or which wall paint to choose. Atm it feels like the makeover will never happen since I'm way too indecisive about everything 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hey Kristen I love your videos. I’m in the process of selling all my living room furniture to redo my room. Cozy neutral Boho is my desire. I have purchased several furniture pieces to style or diy for this space already. I got a black/rattan console for a semi hallway, an IKEA billy bookcase to diy (I think I’m painting it black and putting rattan on the glass. I have a white fireplace with a walnut mantle. Directly across from that I want to have an entry way table built. I think white w/ walnut top to replicate the FP. I want the tan leather sectional from Article, if I can afford it. I’ve already got 2 black IKEA vittsjo shelves flanking the fireplace. Thrifted vases to diy with paint/baking soda in neutral colors plus dusty pink, terra cotta and a touch of either like a dk green or a dk jade blue. Long story short, I want an accent wall behind the FP and vittsjo shelves. I’m thinking terra cotta or the dusty pink, what do you think? I’m also going to add a floor lap, a round mirror about the entry way take and a floor length mirror, should I do a matte black? Or go bold and add gold for these items? I do have some gold decor pieces also. I’m dying for your opinion!!! Thanks in advance.
