My favorite non-Rock pieces of merch are the ones where you can really tell what the style of the performer themselves is in the design rather than just a 1:1 cartoon of an outfit they wore, so like Disasterina and Erika Klash, and then I think my favorite designs are Evah Destruction's "Goth Clowns Only" and Venus Envy's venus flytrap

With lineart with CSP, i really utilize both the Stabilization in the g-pen's settings, as well as the Line thickness tool, this could help with increasing the thickness of your lines without having to thicken or thin them out manually (: Saves a lot of time for me personally! I also always ink on a vector layer so that I can resize them lines however I want without compromising the quality of the resized line. Not sure if you did this, but just an added tip for good measure lol

just a tip! id recommend when doing non-black lineart to make the color more saturated and cool-toned than the base color underneath it, for an example you might put a magenta colour around something that is pink

yesss I enjoyed this so much! and I totally get the overly shadowed opinion (yes to stylized art and to queens exploring other art styles 😭💐) and I totally relate to the brain capacity thing 😹🥹🤝 I feel like the style you made in this vid will benefit if it is in vector because of the clean shapes and solid colors. That can also solve line art thickness edits when resizing them (but making it is tedious 😩 and I dont know yet if ipad have good vector apps lately :/ ) But I do enjoy the freedom in free hand illus 💖

I love buying merch from my poc faves. I do have your pastel pink shirt with a heart that says "Rock M (with some Japanese under it maybe?)". I love the shirt so obviously you're doing something right. The one downfall of me trying to find merch to buy is that the bigger sizes get sold out quickly. Probably because they stock less of them due to the price. Just know that I will pay extra for a bigger size! I also really love raglan tees so I wish I could find something within that realm. I also don't really like wearing a shirt with just a picture of a queen or just their catchphrase on it. I really like what you're doing to personally brand your stuff by drawing it yourself and giving it a unique flair. Keep it up 🫰🏽🫰🏽🫰🏽

i just don't really buy merch too often lol but when i do, it's usually a more ambiguous design that i guess could be described as stealth merch. but the main thing i consider is the feeling of the material itself (sensory issues)

so glad to see you mention it - fuck generative AI! i would def buy more merch from drag queens if i had the funds to spare, but of the few pieces i do have, i gravitated towards those designs either cuz they had really cute artwork or appealing composition (e.g. i have a "death by chocolate" kim chi shirt that was designed by mamobot--love their art style; a sapphira shirt featuring her fan runway look--loved primary trifecta of red & blue on the golden yellow shirt and how the composition emphasized the geometry; and also a nymphia hoodie cuz it was pastel yellow and had a simple design of her four-stage banana looks from the initial runway) would love to see more art videos like this; it was super interesting learning more about the inspirations and thought process behind how you approach your designs!

hOnEsTly, as a Canadian girlie, what keeps me from buying merch is the CAD/USD $ exchange and shipping costs! I always try and buy in person if queens come to Vancouver

For me, the colors aren't as cohesive. Trying to limit the color pallet of the overall piece, may help. Example: The bright pink in the top left rainbow could be used for the text in the speech bubble. Instead of the blood red. I also like to work in rules of 3rds. Have color that reappears 3 times in the piece. That way it brings your eye around and triangulates it some more.

Okaasan, I would buy ALL YOUR MERCH! (♡ヮ♡) I am tallll and I have to shop at the big and tall section to get t shirts that fit me right. That being said, I also spend like $50.00 - $65.00 on a plain T Shirt so if I was able to I would 100% buy all your shirts but I would need like 6 or 7xl in normal clothes.
